Not included in this picture are: Once you are in a group, everyone must click "Ready" (It replaces "Launch") and the group-leader will have to press "Launch" when everyone is ready. (My inability to count is included however.)
And don't forget to add that normally you will have a hard time finding 8 Men matches. a group of 8 is only paired against another group of 8, if available. Else the match search will fail. Normally you go together in a group of 4, maybe two groups of 3s etc.
People really use skype for gaming? Doesn't this thing have huge delay? (I haven't use it for years, I don't know)
I talk to my dad down in Florida when him and his girlfriend fly down for the winter and have no delays I also use it to speak with some of PGI staff and never had an issue; although that is mostly text based.
Skype is ok but it requires you to be "friends" with people and you may or may not want to do that. There is a lot of Skype targeted mischief out there. I prefer to keep Skype very strictly between trusted friends. And no, I'm not paranoid enough to actually have a tinfoil hat. I use Mumble, Teamspeak or Ventrilo for community/clan gameplay purposes as you may have noticed in my signature or videos. It's excellent, safe and fun.
I always use it when I play with my friends since 6-7 years and never had any problems or delay. However when I played WoW there was a lot of people who could get your IP via Skype and then chain DC you so yeah, be careful with it (though it only happened when playing at high/very high elo in arena and it would probably not happen in MWO).
I personally try to use mumble (what I'm used to for WoW) but a lot of people like Team Speak. You just have to have a channel available in whatever you use. Definitely the way to go, though.
