Brawler/skirmisher build. Plays in the same category as the classic HBK-4SP, with some variations: - faster and more manoeuvrable; - less armor. But see next point; - zombie! this thing can take some serious beating before it goes down and still get the kill with 20% health; - runs hotter, be careful; - it's a Centurion: it's badass, it has a mohawk, shield and skulls and everything! Tweaking options: - trade Artemis (2 tons) for more ammo, DHS, armor and/or AMS; - spammers or people worried about the upcoming 12v12 might trade one DHS for one more ton of ammo; - remove the CASE and store ammo in the legs. Little gameplay montage: I think it shows well the strength of the build. First how tough it is, you can rush their pack, raise havoc and lock for your LRMs, take a beating and still be able to kick - if your pack follows they can capitalize on your disruption and really hurt! Second, how fast it is, what make it a very good flanker/skirmisher/finisher. Variant: (variant submitted by Archwright) Remove Artemis and one DHS, to add AMS, one additionnal SRM ammo and 1/2t of armor. AMS is a great asset to your team, definitely useful. More SRM never hurts. But honnestly I'm a bit dubious about removing a DHS - this build already runs pretty hot.
So, this would be Applejack then? Pretty down to earth workhorse actually. But yeah I would probably take out +A and get AMS, and maybe a ton of ammo.
A MOHAWK?! WHY NOT! Good build, great damage capability. This is the best STD powerplant load-out I have seen. I cannot find a single flaw. I have run many builds with 2xSRM6+A and usually run 300 rounds of ammunition, but, rarely get more that a quarter of the way into that... Great build. It's a Hunchie that can survive the apocalypse! Chatt.
You'll probably want more ammo for the SRMs, especially with 12v12 coming, and probably AMS. Time to drop some DHS. I don't recommend storing SRMs in the legs is if you can't avoid it, especially since the LT on the Cent is especially hard to crack (w/ the shield arm). Dropping a DHS and Art gave me this: I was able to get the armor even higher and further protect the ammo via crit-padding.
I piloted a similar build (if not the same) before I went for the Artemis. I'm still testing it, if it really gives a significant edge or not.
Not really. Im using the CN9-A 3xSRM6+A 2xMLas and im not dieing a lot. It really worth the extra weight for me. I barely score 400-500 dmg so far, but i normally get a good amount of components, and with the extra ammo, 1000 is doable. Also, u have to consider that with so many Dires and so around, the Centurion is not really a survavility chassis. U have to consider now that a HUGE part of ur survavility depends in Firepower, enough to tear apart Side Torsos of Clanners, and with enough ammo to keep a sustained barrage. Its just a little boring to wait, with nothing to do, for 5+ minutes till the lines crash in the SRM range, and in part i added BAP for that. But when u enter in range........
