This upgrade is more effective in 12 vs 12. There are two methods of using this mech: 1) fire off lasers in pairs for a sustained barrage when supporting a brawl. 2) if things descend into a long-range sniping war, do not hesitate to use alpha-strike before ducking back into cover while waiting for your mech to cool down. This method also works well for hit and fade operations in River City. Of course I have added nonsense armour values. Find your own balance.
The Idea is great, having 4 (!) ERLLas for a high Alphastrike for Long Range up to 1350m. But what if some Foes are getting close and push you out of cover? You will have problems with them. For such situations its smarter to have some weapons with lower Heatproduction but higher DPS. I would replace two of the ERLLas with standard LLas, add a MLas on the Head, so you can use different Weapongroups for different situations. In the Range of the LLas you still can fire all four Large Lasers for the same Alphadamage. At close Range you can use the two LLas with the single MLas, and if you Alpha, then it even has 5 extra Damage. Here my version: Blagg
As with all awesome's, get into a brawl and, if you're not scrapped, you're badly damaged. Awesome's were designed for either long-range support or flanking support. That's why they can support such large engines.
