Reminds me a bit of my 6 PPC Awesome. I think I have at least double the heatsinks, but almost double the weaponry as well (so heat should be about the same) Do you get about two alphas before overheat, and 3 if you stagger a bit and go way deep into overheat?
So in otherwords this machine is more for shits and giggles than any type of viable contribution? Sort of a MWO version of Shock and Awe?
This build is incredibly good for making random parts fall off enemy Scout Mechs... They look over a ridge, aaaaand then they lose a bodypart.
Wouldn't it be better to pack this into an SP and put 2xERPPC per arm, or the J where you could pack 2 in the RT, and one in each arm? You might be able to get away with an XL engine with that build and eke out a little bit more speed and cram a few more HS in there.
After running a few matches with the awful convergence of arm ballistics/PPCs, I utterly agree with your decision to place the PPCs in the torso of the 4P (as opposed to the arms of the 4SP). That and, the value of mounting your long-range fly-swatter high up on your 'mech cannot be overstated.
I built this once. I think the only other kill I got with it was when an enemy 4P (with the standard 9 lasers) over heated and shut down, allowing me to shoot him right in the cockpit.
This build would have been perfect if one of our guys brought a hunchy to our internal 8v8 last night. Our group leader gets us into the separate TS channel and says "okay...what do you guys have that has PPCs?" If they provide more concealment on maps (for those that know the difference between concealment and cover) besides just the trees on the periphery of caustic, then these PPC boats will be really good. Overheat = stealth. Lantry, what's that from?
With the recent update to the hunchback's aesthetics, I just HAD to make a build with 4 PPC's. Credit to Vergere 2 PPC's on left click, 2 on the right... It actually works!
