As soon as the heat tax for PPCs was announced, I knew I'd see builds like this for Misery. Everyone loves a 40-damage alphastrike. Do you ever find yourself running out of ammo in 12v12?
I haven't run out yet. I used to take 35 with my AC20's, but I don't seem to find the bottom of the barrel when I do that. If I survive the entire match I'll typically end with 3-5 ammo left carrying only 4 tons. Sometimes the match goes long range and the AC20 sees very little use.
Not that there's anything that can be done about the problem, but it's very left side heavy, which feels weird in the usually symetrical and balanced (though less so with the Misery) Stalkers. I suppose you could do something crazy like moving both PPCs to the RA, strip the LA armor (or leave some as a shield) and add a CT zombie laser and/or SRM. It's a shame to spend 2 tons armoring your RT just to hold on to the RA PPC.
My Misery is the only mech I have anymore. I always get pissed and sell my others. I use almost the same build in mine, have done so for ages now. Here's how mine differs: I use 2 ER Large Lasers instead of the ERPPCs, close to the same damage, alot less heat. 54 rounds of AC/20 ammo. No AMS. 18 DHS. Efficiency is at 1.56, I almost never overheat unless I get caught in a hot zone. Also, have a STD 265 in mine. Max Armor. I'm rarely not one of, if not the, top damage. Such a simple build but it's a blast to pilot.
The meta build was all on the left side, so your entire right side could be a damage sponge and you could poke a pinpoint 40 around left corners with good convergence. As for the AC20 projectile nerf directed at this build, it's now a fair bit less potent at ranges over 200-300m if you've got to lead your target.
