CTF-2X Compromise (1x AC20, 1x PPC, 2x SRM4, STD280)

You can use the PPC in your shoulder or in your arm, as you prefer - both have their pros and cons. I personally prefer keeping it in the arm for articulation so I can snipe from up high or down low, especially on maps like Alpine or Terra Therma.

I snipe people with the PPC and either close or let them close until they're within AC/20 range - then begin blasting off 30 pts of armor at a time (conveniently, both have the same 4s cooldown, although the AC/20 needs to be led slightly more than the PPC). Once they close within 100m I switch from PPC & AC20 to SRM4+4 & AC20 (SRM4 has 3.75s cooldown which also matches pretty nicely), and a solid hit hurts even more than the PPC. I originally had a LL in the arm and MLs in the torsos, but I found this setup was much more effective for me due to its simplicity.

I like to put the PPC on left mouse, AC20 on the right, and double AC4 on the thumb mouse button.

I've included 35 AC20 rounds and 200 SRM rounds for the longer 12v12 rounds. If I could find a way, I'd take even more ammo, but I don't like to drop below the std280 engine with the 2X.

While I have found this build to be extremely effective across all maps while playing with it over the past few days, this build still feels a little rough around the edges - any ideas?

I was tooling around in smurfy with this concept, but didn't make it to completion. I'll test it out and let you know if anything strikes me.

Been tinkering with this build a bit. I've been getting frustrated with PPC hit detection weirdness, so switched over to an ERLL so I can still participate a bit during early game snipes. AMS helps a lot to stay alive until the furball starts and range has closed enough to start pounding away with the AC20 & SRM8. I added a DHS to the engine to help keep the ERLL viable during the brawl, but heat management is essential. I usually keep the ERLL in my brawling rotation, and drop it as soon as my heat begins to spike. Unfortunately, I had to drop another 1/2 ton of armor to fit the AMS and DHS.

You could drop the DHS and/or switch to a regular LL to get even better heat efficiency and another ton of armor, but I like the range and flexibility that this build provides. Give it a shot and let me know what you think! Any feedback would be appreciated!

I use mine with a bit less ammo for 2 more DHS, but I have a ER-PPC. I really love to be able to hit from far away enough time for the "real" fight to begin, and in some case, this allows me to have a higher alpha, but heat shall be managed carefully.

    Here is my build :

Nothing to say except it is a really powerful build ;)

I like it a lot! Starting from a similar build in the 1X forum I tinkered my way to something similar, only it has an AC10 instead. In return it keeps ML backups for pinpoint close range damage and has AMS.

Since it differs quite a bit I made my own thread for it.

Should either CASE those ammo in the ST, or put it in the CT.
Especially when it comes to two tons of AC20 ammo... tick... tick... tick... BooM!
