well, I agree. I've begun to use both view modes. 3pv to scout with, and 1pv to aim with. it does give me a slight advantage, but the enemy can see my little drone poking it's head over any ridge due to that silly red light. I still feel it needs work, but we will have to see what they will change.
I love the silly red light. It is a way to discourage use of the stupid 3PV, and to tell me who I should gank on first.
No no, my good sir. Not suggesting any changes at all...besides when spectating. Was just stating my perceived weaknesses of 3PV.
Well, if PGI is not going to contain the Beacon-Dummies (read: stupid 3PV users) into their own queue, then we take matters into our own hands to either discourage 3PV players, or at least discourage the use of it. Here is what I suggest: 1) Set enemy Beacon-Dummies as the primary targets, and encourage allies to do so. Tell them he is easier to kill, and is a Beacon-Dummy. 2) Say something to encourage 1PV use at the start of the game. I would not insult Beacon-Dummies in chat though, it is simply bad form. 3) Ignore in chat towards Beacon-Dummies. Just say "Please use 1PV" instead. Teach them how to F4 to 1PV mode. 4) Refrain from helping Beacon-Dummies in your own team. Do not help them to block damage or support. DO NOT TEAMKILL/TEAMDAMAGE. That is just bad form. Likewise, do not rat out their position to enemy. Just ignore them as a whole. 5) Refuse to drop with a Beacon-Dummy (not much you can do with PUGs, see above). 6) Remove/Ban Beacon-Dummies in your gaming group/clan/corps/etc if they do not want to play in 1PV. 7) Do not join groups that welcomes Beacon-Dummies. Basically we make it so that PGI would give us our no-3PV queue, if only to give them Beacon-Dummies a better time in this game. I would rather take a n00bish 1PV player than some decent Beacon-Dummies as my ally.
I have seen zero 3PV I'm the games I played yesterday. I didn't do any 12 ma'am drops though and that is where my issue with it is. I think my elo is high enough for it to not be an issue for PUG matches. I will still be upset with it though until you cannot so easily switch back and forth.
why even play at that point...im not going to let some other random people ive never seen before ruin my game for me
Lol, what the hell is wrong with you. Note the period infers rhetoric; this is a question for you to ask yourself, I don't particularly need or care for the answer.
THAT I HAVE TO AGREE! I wish they have a free look mode on your own mech though, like when you go into test/training mode. PS: Due to the change 12v12 Pre-Made Drops Going 1PV Only, I think things should be fine now. For now MWO is staying as a mech SIMULATOR, and we don't have to worry about MWO mutating into a customizable mech shooter. Even though I am unfortunately mostly doing pugs due to timezone issue (I am in asia) I am happy with the changes.
