Looks like a pretty solid build. I currently have an AC/20 and 4 MedLas on my 1X. But lack the Endo.

Plays nicely, have some nice sting with the MedLas and a solid punch with the AC/20.

Also, LOVE the video. Thank you :)

This would make an excellent city fighter.

I started out with a similar build. I ran an LB-10-X instead of the AC20 and a standard 300 engine. 5ML will tear stuff up, and LBX scared off the lights and melted faces at point blank. I'm sure the AC20 gives it a nice punch. I've never had luck with an XL engine in a 'Phract. Nice build though!

Indeed - it definitely does. It's brutal but you have to watch your heat.

Thanks! Glad you liked it! It is a vicious build and with the new hit detection it is absolutely devastating to lights now.

almost the same can be done with: AC10+PPC(same dps as ac20) in torso and 2 Large Pulse Lasers in hands. 40 dps instead of 45 in original setup, but:
    1) all lasers are in hands - easier to aim.
    2) ppc+AC-10 has 500+ range instead of sucky ac20.
should be runned with XL engine like 280-300 XL and about 15 DHS. Could be used on ctf-3d too.

I really like this build. It's like my FlameC20 build for my Flame, only with an extra laser and slightly more speed. I've decided to add Cataphracts to the end of my short list for next-mechs, and this looks like a solid build.

Ninja, I think you're confusing alpha with dps. Not to be nitpicky, but if a mech could do 45 DPS...
The combo you're talking about of AC10+PPC would likely be very hot, and the XL engine runs into survivability issues.

I'm not saying your build is bad, but it is far from "the same" IMHO.

    Hoooo-leeee sheeeeeit man...

Never ran a 'phract before, but I thought your video looked cool and after the recent special weekend I had plenty of C-Bills to experiment with. After only a few matches, I do believe that this is the first heavy 'Mech I've truly enjoyed piloting. You need to put this build up for the next Community Trial 'Mech.

Another bonus is that it's hurting peoples' eyes when I paint it with Marik Militia colors -- Pleione (purple) as primary, Manganese (blue) as secondary, and Crimson (red) as Tertiary. I've gotten at least two comments per match so far...

I'm going to look at the rest of the 'phracts to see if I can get two more good builds so I can master these FrankenMechs!

That seems like that would be really hot.

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks! I might submit a build or two the next time they do it.

I love this build! It works great on maps such as FC / FCS / RC / RCN. However, the lack of range on the weapons, coupled with most folks' propensity to poptart at large, makes it VERY challenging to play on range-dependent maps such as Tourmaline or Alpine.

Still, if you can close the distance, this is a VERY fun build that can stand toe-to-toe with even meager piloting skills (personal experience!) against most chassis heavy and below. Take care not to go face-to-face with full-armor assaults, though... I found out the hard way that some of them suckers can really rip me a new one... on the forehead!

Yeah the lack of range is a problem in the current meta. Closing distance is the key though the AC20 has surprising range to it. Glad it's working for you!

I went with the AC20 build for my new CTF-1X but switched to LB-10-X after getting my ass handed a few times in a row. I like the LBX more: the reduced weight compared to the -20 went into an AMS and a ton or two additional LBX ammo. Playing River City map with this setup was the closest I ever came to Atlas rage, killing left and right. The only downside is that you reaaaally have to check your fire, or that shotgun is plowing through friend and foe alike.

I have to admit that I'm not a huge fan of the LB10X. Even with all the changes thus far it feels very weak. If it works for you though that's great!

I'm sure the AC20 is not to blame - this week's trial mechs include the G Hunchback that also has an AC20, and it worked really well for me. I also run an Ilya with 3x UAC5, maybe what got me into trouble was playing the support CTF-1X exactly the same way.

Well I'm back to your original build - LBX is fun but pretty situational too, the AC20 is the better all-around package. And for carrying an LBX10 into battle, the CTF-3D Nasty Cat is better: If you want a shotgun, bring a double barrel ^^

After I started playing a bit more careful (like a supporter, instead of 'Let 'er rip!' like in my Ilya) - this build is actually quiet pleasant.

Glad it's working for you! I recently just decided to pick back up my CTF-1X and was pleased to find that this build is just as potent now as it was before. Just have to be careful with the number of snipers running around but if you get close... they're done.

I switched back from my 4LL CTF-1X to this Baby and I am not regretting it. Damn, how could I have been running the 1X without an AC20?

    It is so awesome!

    Thanks for this Build man!

If you're only doing 4-LLases (instead of 5), then the 3D is a better option because of Jump Jets.

This 1X is a beast, it's like a slower, better armored, and nastier version of my Hunchback.
