I'm just going to say that anything that kills me is OP and needs to be nerfed!:angry::angry:

Just kidding, I haven't had any opponents that a well-balanced, prepared team can deal with. The SSRM cat can be annoying, until it runs into something heavy enough to beat it into the ground. The Gauss cat, PPC cat, etc. is also annoying until a scout TAGs it and we darken the sky with LRMs headed its way. laser-boats, LRM boats, etc. all expose some weakness or another, which you just have to know in order to take them down. And the most important thing of all, if you cannot take them down then your buddy can. Truly it's teamwork that makes or breaks a team, not its builds.

As an example, I sometimes random-drop to test new builds. The first thing I do is start team-speaking a plan so everyone knows what they're supposed to be doing. My plans aren't always perfect, but getting everyone doing SOMETHING as a group is better than having a few people doing the right thing while everyone else wanders off.

"circle straffing retard" just about applies to any mech under 105 tons at some point, lol

BTW, I hate Gausspaults that I don't see first, as well as Streak Cats. Especially when the two are together.

Back in friends and family it was the 6 small laser Jenner that was hated because of the ease with which you could leg folks.

These are just Flavors if the Month in terms of which mech to hate but it is interesting to see for sure.

Any light mech that uses 2 SSRMs. And Gausspults... nothing more satisfying than watching one of those blow up.

Both gauss cats and streak cats are very effective single purpose builds.

Gauss cats are the best snipers in the game right now. Streak cats are the best light/medium killers due to short range lock on missles of death. That said, streaks currently focus the majority of its damage on the center torso. This will be changed in an upcoming patch to spread damage and should make streaks less deadly. We cats have huge center torsos and are not as maneuverable as other mechs.

Also, you can easily nullify a streak cats advantage by taking out its huge ears. Gauss cats lack jump jets and are slow to turn so lights can wreck them. However, a good gauss pilot can take out a light mech. My advice to you lights is to put the fastest damn engine you can find and do not stay in my cross hairs for over 1 second or you will surely die. Now, a good Atlas pilot can take a Gauss cat out pretty well due to its firepower advantage and our big center torso targets. And as stated before, guass cats should be high on a teams kill first list and LRMd (so annoying).

Streak cats because I play almost exclusively mediums. In PUG matches I try and organize my team to kill them as fast as possible. Although it does feel like I am always the first one they go after.

Yeah, they should definately be eliminated early. I think once they make the change to streaks to spread out damage, this may balance them. I would think it would take longer to take down a mech if the damage is spread out.

Won't matter... Soon Artemis will be in effect and any SRM will be guided as well as LRMs. SSRM2 will be a thing of the past. Now they will be mounting SRM6 with Artemis. ;)

You sure they are implementing it with tracking for SRMs aswell?

I hope not. Like I didn't feel the need to run away from streakpults enough already.

Hmmmm, I just read Artemis should be in tomorrows patch. Does this mean the rise of the 6 SRM-6 Cats with Artemis????

LRM Atlas....Why would you take 100 tons of cool with a skull on top and glowy red eyes and reduce it to a lowly missileboat!?!? I just dont get it....not even worried about the missiles (I run an atlas K Dual AMS for the win!) just sad that another atlas that could be so much more is reduced to LRM boat status....I put them out of their misery where I can.

    From the BattletechWiki :

In relation to Artemis soon to be implemented, not sure about the right specs but these are

The Artemis IV Fire Control System is a guidance system that utilizes an infrared laser designator and tight-beam microwave transmitter which improves the accuracy of LRMs, SRMs, and MMLs by roughly thirty-five percent. The Artemis IV FCS must be mounted in the same location as the launcher it controls, taking up space and weight on a BattleMech like other components.[2] In order to actually take the benefit of Artemis IV, the missiles fired must be Artemis compatible, which are more expensive than standard versions, and the firing unit must have line of sight to its target, indirectly fired LRM receives no increase in accuracy.

Though extremely useful for improving a missile launcher, there is one major obstacle to their use: If any standard missile launcher is equipped with an Artemis system, every launcher of that type must have its own Artemis IV attached.[3] Therefore a 'Mech mounting an LRM-15 and an LRM-5 would need two Artemis IV systems. (As they use different guidance systems, Rocket Launchers, MRMs, Streak launchers, and NARC systems do not require Artemis IV and do not count towards this limit.) ATM launchers automatically have Artemis included.

Well yea....I mean Artemis is only useful if you have one for each launcher and expose yourself to their fire.
