    PRIMARY CONFIGURATION

Since there are not enough Raven builds available, i decided to offer you this one: "Half a Catapult: The Halfapult"

I threw this together with spare parts that i had sitting in my 'Mechlab. I don't think it's actually worth building this for long-term usage? I just use this to grind XP and will most likely recycle the 'Mech once i am done with that.

Other lights and most medium 'Mechs will tear you apart easily (and you're too slow to outrun them), so you probably want to hump the leg of the nearest Atlas to play long range support with the LRM and bodyguard for the fat guy with your double MPL

    ALTERNATE CONFIGURATION A

This variant just swaps out the LRM15+Artemis with an LRM15 (Regular) and strips the Medium Pulse Lasers to give you a Large Laser. Runs a lot cooler is all and the ammo is less expensive.

    NOTES AND ADJUSTMENTS:

-ARMOR: you have enough armor to max everything but the LA (protects your LT).
-DHS: Are not required and the build works "just fine" without them.
-AMMO: If you want to be cheap(er) you can use regular LRM15 and toss an additional ton of ammo somewhere. Or add another heatsink. Or get some more armor. Or whatever.

Yeah, this build is far from spectacular, but it's not the worst build i tried either

    Enjoy

Awesome little builds and I am definitely more excited about buying my 4X now!

Just a note, though... you are missing your AMS ammo ;)

I've been having fun with this build.

Max speed, jump jets and close range weapons in addition to the LRM 15 can give you great flexibility on the battlefield.

The Raven 4X really needs those JJs. It's the only thing it has over the other Ravens.

I have been using this variant for a while now:
    RVN-4X
It has two pairs of double heatsinks in the side torsos. Originally I had only one pair and filled up the remaining space with ammo, but it sometimes overheated if I spammed the lasers too much, so I decided to do it this way. If the ammo is not enough, I can always swap out one ton of AMS ammo for more LRM or get rid of the machine guns, which are frankly pathetic but cause next to no heat accumulation.

In my experience, the "artillery Raven" is surprisingly effective. Its great mobility and torso twist range allow it to run across the battlefield preventing the enemy from getting a good lock on it, while maintaining its own lock on its target. It's also still essentially a light mech, so if they try to get up in your grill, you have your choice of either running circles around their heavier, slower mechs or just plain running.

AMS is absolutely indispensable though, because one good LRM 20 barrage can get rid of the armor on your torso or one of your legs. It's also kind of funny to weave behind a heavier ally, hear the characteristic whirr of the AMS firing and realise that you've just inadvertently saved them from a bombardment because your defenses thought you were being targeted.

Also, if you want to go close range you can just swap the LRM 10 for an SRM 6 and get 2 extra tons of ammo
