Bleh. Who cares, tbt. No name and shame intended, just a stupid build. Is not as if that guy is the only one running crap builds like that...
More for your amusement Yes, the guy actually ragequitted when he was legged by LRMs. we lost that one. Badly. Because they had at least three LRM boats, and our team had no ECM. Guess who's to blame. Extra points awarded because he was constantly whining on chat about LRMs. In a kitfox. without ecm. I was facepalming so hard my elbow was touching my nosestrils. http://i.imgur.com/hfJaD7G.jpg[/img] Why. Just why. Oh yeah. Because lurms
Unfortunately Ram folks have gotten even MORE LRM happy after that silly challenge that rewarded LRM use. Now when I hear someone on my team going LRM boat lock targets I have to force myself not to make THEM my first target.
Sadest part is.....he can build that same in an ECM one, and he is not using the full -S set.... http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=177&l=c98b7eec6f3c6251e322e1919f79fa4165c3a842 Just giving away the TAG for the ECM (that in the end have the same effect, both are for electronic warfare)
Not just that, but can someone bring me a sensible explanation for his weapon choices?. cERPPC, cERML, cMLP?. What's the train of thought going on there?...
Mmh well he only has 4 energy hardpoints on that build so not that hard to see what he was thinking. TAG for calling in fire and farming. cERPPC for range, then filled the other two with some close range firepower that fit the weight they had left. Is it a good build no but theres your answer. Coincidentally I've seen some devastating all LRM Summoner's recently in group paired up with narcers recently (4 x LRM 15's each from memory). Like Jack in a box jumping left right and centre. I only ever see them on Alpine which is weird.
The worst thing about lurm Atlas is that they give the impression you're are useful because at the end of the game you dealt damage - standing behind in you own private ECM bubble I hope you deal damage! In the mean time your team is placed in a handicap situation because the mech supposed to tank, provide ECM cover and lead the charge stays in the rear guard. This is what's absolutely irritating about LRM Atlas and DDCs in particular, the way this selfishly made build draw the pilot to adopt an unfitted playstyle, wasting tonnage potential (you make much deadlier LRM boat out of Awesomes or Cats) and perturbing the team's balance (when I see an Atlas in the line-up, I expect it to lead the pack). That's why, quoting the thread title, this mechs are without competitors the most cringeworthy builds, because there's nothing worst than a build making people play badly out of a mech supposed to be the backbone of a team. (and I agree with you: 2LBX, or AC/20, plus SRMs is the DDC way)
I've seen some devastating all LRM Summoner's recently
I've seen some too. I've also seen a lot not knowing what they're doing (thanks to the challenge mostly). I was amazed by the amount of them not even mounting an Active Probe. All I had to do is to kiss them with my Raven, keeping them useless under my ECM and narcing them so they taste their own poison hear:
as for lrm summoner, it is viable to have a multi lrm5 summoner with reasonable amount of ammo, cAP and a UAC5. actually a decent front line support type lrmer.
So many lurms. Is what EZmode has: attracts noobies and people who can't hit with an unguided weapon even if itheir life depended on it. meanwhile in the MWO forums the usual cadre of "pro"s are insulting anyone who suggests that they're way too risk/effort - rewarding and that their indirect fire ability and ammo per ton should be nerfed. BTW about the summoner LRM builds. Yes, they can be decent or even good. No, they are not good when the builds I'm talking about are packing LRM20/LRM15s only and running out of ammo after 5 minutes of game...leaving them with no weapon at all.
To be honest, i dont go there. They are fine when ur team and enemy team get the same electronic warfare level and LRM level. Also there are mech whose only reason to exist is to carry LRM launchers, but RAVEN IS NOT ONE OF THEM..........
That used to be a fairly standard fast medium light harasser mech setup for the Golden Boy. When shake was worse it was quite effective.
Exactly what is wrong with that setup beyond it doesn't have a TAG? Its not optimal but I see worse builds regularly. Soy rage mode engaged..... TBH this thread has just turned into a whine about LRM's and is now semi pointless as an instructional/warning tool. I might barely use them but LRM's are an integral part of the game with a lot of tools to defeat them. Ultimately only NARC makes them truly dangerous so why does everyone feel the need to constantly rage at them? How people define that its ok to boat in a DWF, TBR or SCR ... but not use LRM's is beyond me (yes I use all 3 but I also rarely rage at LRM's). Soy mode disengaged.....
Your mother was a hamster. Didn't get a screen shot fast enough before it died, but I saw a Cicada today...with 1 small laser. Not sure what the thought process was there...
See, that's not the mech in question. It's the raven 3l with 2LRM5's and 3ML. I was trying to point that out to you. That, and the Jager A with 1xLRM20A+.
To me though a lot of these aren't good but they're not appalling..... Unlike the gentleman called "Coolant" in my last match on Terra Therma with 6 cMPL.... in his DWF-Prime(I). Needless to say he died before he could achieve much... To me that's terrible but only seeing callout LRM threads here.... PS: Vergere I said Golden Boy ergo I might have been talking about the Golden Boy.
