"DOOMGUY" is the CN9-D build I came up with after a bit of fiddling around in the Mechlab and is the current build I use for this particular Centurion. It can preform quite well. I use it as a Support, Light Hunter-Killer, and Brawler. From my experience it has enough fire power to make those lights flee and stand up against the bigger Mechs. While lacking in overall power it makes it up with armor and speed.

*Edit* I do not know how to get that fancy Smurfy Mechlab overview to show up.

    Welcome to mechspecs. :)
What I feel is that you have a bit of everything in this mech.
You can hit lights well, but there is not enough speed to chase them down.
You have full armor, but you cannot zombie due to XL.
LBX10 is a short range weaponary, coupled with streaks and MLas means you are a mid-short range mech.

What it is great though, is to mop up enemy mech and finish off the wounded. This would be useful against mechs with trashed armor, and would do well in mid-late gam. The speed helps also, not the fstest but good enough for cleaning up. But I can see problem with this in the early part of the match. I guess you will have to sit with the big group and hope for the best with your MLas.

    Thank you for the welcome.
Yeah, my early game is much to be desired. I make the best of it supporting the assaults and intercepting lights, then moving towards the mid and late game I start to hunt whats left.

You can always use the NGNG TS3 server to use voice coms with some good players

This is a really fun build to play. I change mine up slightly, 1 ton of ssrm ammo is plenty so I traded that in for more LBX and threw some credits at artemis for the improved lock time. It's a blast to play.

if you prefer a little more speed.

Well +A does not improve the lock time of streaks. There was that old glitch, but it requires your mech to have at least one LRM/SRM to work, and I don't even know if that glitch works anymore.

If you are thinking of using SRM instead, SRM don't lock. Well the +A would improve the grouping of the SRM, the results are quite good on SRM6, not too noticable on SRM4, and utterly useless on SRM2.

meh.. threw in the wrong ammo (fixed it now)

Regardless of whether the artemis+streaks is a bug and if or ever it would be fixed isn't really the issue. The fact is that artemis cuts streak lock time in half right now makes it worth the credits to me.

He wasn't attacking the build. He was stating that the Artemis was likely a glitch, and perhaps doesn't function if you don't have missiles with Artemis equipped. (Artemis takes an extra slot and ton per missile launcher, so isn't technically equipped if you don't have a non Streak launcher.) Now, I haven't tested to see if it does make a difference or not. I may consider it when I get home from work today. I have a 'Pult with Artemis guidance on it for Lehrming. I'll toss some streaks on it instead of the LRMs and see if that makes a difference.

While everything else looks good to me, I have kind of a problem running an XL engine on a close range Centurion.

i have the same weapons on my CN9-D... and i must say even though i have my reservations on using XL engines on a centurion, i works pretty good... this so far is the best build imo for the CN9-D... fast... can hang with the best of them, and is a nightmare for lights... great build 5/5!
