Wondering what you guys are using?
I have an old Sony 7506 which is excellent.. well except for that's it's old and starting to fall apart.
I'm looking to replace it with the same or better.

    Currently looking at Sony MDR-R1
    V-Moda M-100
    Pioneer HDJ-2000
A few others (cheaper ones also)

Looking for a headset that is over the year and closed. Comfortable to spend 5-6 hours wearing. I know the Sony 7506 is like that.

    Thanks.

Here's what I currently use; (click for more info)

My previous set killed my ears when worn for long periods. The Razers not only sound great, I can finally wear them without having to pull one ear off for a rest every half hour.

I've had my My Turtle Beach for a few years now. Its conformable and the sound is good. The volume control box is a nice feature, but it needs to be clipped to something otherwise its weight will pull the connections loose in time.

Thanks guys, Plantonics and Audio Technica have been on my list for years..
And it's headphones you can also use in an airplane or wherever if you want to take them with you and not look too dorky.

I have been using Sony MDR-V700 cans since ~2001. Excellent for music and movies...and I use them for gaming as well.

This has been my solution for a couple years:

Very happy with the stereo mic on this webcam.

I use CM Storm Sirus USB headset, 5.1 surround, runs off USB so you don't need a soundcard with 5.1, great for laptops.
The mic is good quality, I have been told I come through clear and crisp.

I recently purchased the Logitech G930 Wireless Gaming Headset.

    http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Gaming-Headset-Surround/dp/B003VANOFY/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1380466842&sr=1-1&keywords=logitech+g930+wireless+gaming+headset

So far I've been quite pleased with them. The 7.1 Surround Sound is great for picking up locational environmental sounds. I'm really enjoying the wireless aspect, as I usually play for hours on end, and sneak off between rounds, or deaths, for a coffee run or what have you, and it allows me to continue listening and contributing to conversations. No more "What did I miss?".

Running the same headphones as Blagg, Used to wear them for music but use them solely on the computer now and see no need to replace it as I can use the mic from my Logitech C270 webcam. Teamspeak has enough options for open mic and my room is quiet enough for it not to be a problem.

CS Storm makes some good gear. I actually use the Recon mouse at work, it's cheap, but really freaking good and comfortable. So much better than the regular office mice.

I'll look into the Logitech wireless too. I've been curious about the 7.1 surround sound. I'll see how it works in CSS GO, if it works there, i might buy it.

    Thanks again guys!

One of my favorites as well. I believe even the cheapest of the Logitech webcams has good mics. The only reason I dont use it as much as my headset mic (which is far inferior quality) is because I have gotten used to the in-line mic controls.

Any of you wearing glasses ? Headphones that cover the ear and put pressure on the glasses are just a no-no for me. I'm using some old Sennheiser PC151 - not the best but it was on sale 50% off for 30$ or so (half the usual price).
It's so-so. Pressure on the ears and the top of the head was rather high when it was new. Meanwhile it's broken in and it's doing what it's supposed to do.
Before that I used this: a 10$ Hama headset that survived 3 sets of new ear pads - until I got the Sennheiser. It wasn't really an improvement tho, I just ran out of ear pads and used the Sennheiser instead ^^

Dude... we're gamers... we all wear glasses. :D Or rather, (I crack me up)

I have had several sets of headphones that have caused pain while wearing glasses. Some of the issue has been the frames I wear (I am a bit metro and have about 15 pairs of glasses) and some were just too tight on my giant head. I had some Gamecom/Plantronics that were TERRIBLY painful. I actually ended up using an in-ear phone set for a while because it was so uncomfortable. I have used Sony, Sennheiser, Bose, Plantronics, Logitech, the list goes on - my point is simply that I have never found anything as comfortable long-use as my Razors.

I referred to top10reviews a couple years ago when I was looking for a good headset. At the time, the Turtle Beach Z6a was number 2 on the list. I liked the concept of having multiple speakers in each ear for directional quality. It worked FANTASTIC in shooter games like Battlefield 3. I believe it was one of the only headsets that used more than 2 drivers in each ear. Might sound like a gimmick, but the sound directions were spot on. Definitely the best headset I have used for that feature.

That said, the material quality was horrible and the QUALITY of the sound left much to be desired. I would not recommend it unless directional sound is your top concern (usually for standard FPS games). IMO MechWarrior doesn't need much for direction quality so you should only be concerned with raw sound quality.

Latest top10revies list, I haven't even looked at it yet, but I would definitely recommend it!

EDIT: Looks like the newest version of the Turtle Beach Z6a is their new z Seven model. I've seen a lot of good reviews and the only criticism being that it fits a bit tight and might be uncomfortable for long periods of time. Some found a simple solution by keeping it stretched on some books for a long period of time to warp the plastic a tad. I would probably take it a step farther and use a hair-dryer or heat gun to loosen up the plastic and bend it out slightly, but that's only if i find it uncomfortable. I am considering getting this as a replacement if my Z6a fails (which feels like sooner rather than later)
