Boar's Head Balance Beam (1x AC20, 6x MLas, 1x LRM15+A, AMS, BAP, STD350)

It brawls, it missiles, it's not TERRIBLY hot for a lot of the Boar's Head builds out there. A single SRM slot just didn't seem worth it..and going past the STD 350 EATS up tonnage just for that extra heatsink.

 

I think I prefer to have a little more LRM ammo, maybe I hit to many buildings hear:

 

Has acceptable Armor, more direct Fire Range, a bit cooler and two volleys of 10 Missiles each instead of 10+5.

 

But Blagg, it's only a teeeeeeeeen. *whines*

You know the rules! If it can fit a 20, it must fit a 20!

 

The original build only has 2 tons of LRM+A ammo because I was finding that, originally, when I played with 3 AC20 tons and 3 LRM+A tons I was running out of AC20 ammo and having between 135-180 missiles left over. To me, another 7 AC20 shots, on an Atlas, was more worthwhile.

Blagg, I see what you did with the armor, rearranging it to put more on the front torsos (that's what mine looks like in game, but I hit 'max armor' in Smurfy and forgot to reallocate that portion) and you returned the 8 to each arm I'd taken off.

That said...I'm not sure I'd take your armament changes. It's been my experience that an LRM15 with Artemis and BAP will outperform an LRM20 with neither of those perks...and having an AC10 to 'snipe' with at range doesn't do your 6 medium lasers justice.

The Balance Beam sits back and fires off LRM's until the terrain and/or group coordination allow for entrance into a brawl. If you want more ranged direct fire, a single AC10 isn't gonna cut it. At least, those are my thoughts
