I know this is only slightly different than other builds, but I think this is the best for me after trying small variations of 5ML or mixing in SL somehow like the other builds show.

Fastest engine and max armor which I find an almost must then:

4ML allows you to only use your arms and not waste a shot while running around furiously by trying to armlock the 4ML arms + 1ML CT. Most of the times I missed the CT shot anyway because I'm shooting at an angle or sprinting around crazily and don't have the luxury of armlocking the shot.

Without that questionable 5th laser you're able to bring in an extra AMS which I think is awesome. Why you ask? Well, towards the beginning the match you help your teammates out in the ams shield, in the middle/end of the match streaks aren't going to hurt you nearly as much. I'd love another ton of AMS ammo, but in the few games I've played, it really wasn't needed.

Similarly, mixing in SL's affect your range drastically. Just running into things hurts this mech seriously. I don't need to be kicked by the enemy mech getting that close (plus, the dangers of a light getting

You can also swap a MLas for an extra 2 SLas.

I find this mech runs hot at Basic levels but as I advance through it the heat becomes more manageable. It isn't a bad build at all and can run either quick interdiction or AMS-On-Legs support for the assaults.

I agree, Michael - I found myself shutting down on hot maps if I wasn't careful - I really think once it's elited, it will be a different story, however. Left mouse is alpha, right mouse is chainfire.

You can, but LT Satisfactory's point remains. You'll have mixed ranges, and you'll run hotter. I don't think the 1 extra damage is worth it in this case.

    5 stars for this one.
MLs allows to keep the distance (kind of), while the double AMS is just absolutely awesome on a light mech (we should gain XP for destroying missiles).
It's just a bit hot, but it should be ok once the basic perks doubled.

The problem for this mech is the TDK... You can't outrun it, you can't outfight it and it has more armor than you do.

lol, you can say that about any locust vs ANY OTHER MECH. You will not win 1v1 if you're cloned. Our tagline should be "Locusts - We make commandos look like badasses."

I may seriously use GXP to unlock basic on the 1v and 3s and MAYBE within two months I'll get this 3M elited. There is zero chance I will EVER get any of these mastered.

I am currently running 2x MLas & 2x SLas, but am carrying another ton of AMS ammo. Stick with the big guys and provide massive missile protection, and take a strafing run when you see the chance to do so.

think im going to try this build too, noticed the ability to mount 2 ams and thought that would be cool. Would you estimate that it could take out a whole volley of lrm20, or at least 15, without taking any hits?

Not even close. 1 ams can take out 3.5 missiles basically. So with 2 ams you're taking out 7 out of whatever is in the swarm. Now, if the enemy mech chainfires the lrms, naturally you're shooting down more as your ams is firing off a larger amount of ammo over a larger timeframe.

Also, this will help you survive longer if you run into a streak-mando/taro/hawk/assault

    I'm running similar setup.

Basically, what I did is deduct 8 points of cockpit armor and 1 point from CT, LT and RT and crammed in 1 SL. Cockpit is tiny and so far I never died out of cockpit destruction.
I know it's overkill probably but it's good to have all slots, tonnage and hardpoints filled. :D

Probably the best build for this mech. Still, don't expact a lot of protection from the AMS... if you see a KTO-18 with 5x streaks, you are still dead in one volley or two. The AMS does help against the lone ssrm2 once in a while, which is great, but a deddicated streaker will still eat you for second breakfast.

The AMS is more for protecting the team from LRMs than for streaks.

Feel like given this loadout's role, TAG is pretty important.

You're not sacrificing a whole lot of speed with an XL 180, and head armor isn't necessary when you have less armor in your rear torso...

Great loadout overall. TONNES of utility.
