I designed this 'Mech with the knowledge that PPC's are going to Ionize ECM in the very near future. Keeping that in mind I decided that the Streak Missiles will be able to work affectively, even against Raven 3L's and the like. Although I haven't been able to test this theory yet I am having a great deal of fun knocking down the likes of Atlases and Cataphracts with this set up. WARNING: This loadout requires exceptional Heat Discipline, great Timing and the Patience to make every shot count! Have Fun!
The day has come and I am stuck at work. But when I get home the first thing I am going to do, besides buy Trebuche's, is take this 'Mech out and hunt some Ravens. Hopefully, with the help of the Target Degration Module and chain firing the PPC's, this 'Mech will prove to be an effective ECM HUNTER.
I was also very interested when I saw that PPC's will disrupt ECM, just another reason to love them. Any word on how well this build works, Myth?
This build works well enough but you really have to be on the ball with heat management. Because ER PPC's have a faster rate of fire it is very easy to overheat while focused on the mix. I haven't tried running it with Cool Shots yet, I'm going to go and do that right now. Myth. Post Script: I forgot just how hot this 'mech runs. Even with the cool shots I shut down twice in my first match back in it. (I haven't piloted this 'mech in about five weeks.) I made two kills with it but was destroyed due to a shutdown. I think that if I took the time to practice back up that this would still be a great light hunter. However, I have switched to 2x L.PLasers instead of the PPC's and find the heat management much easier to control. Try them both out and see what works best for you.
The PPC's and SSRM's work brilliantly together, as I had expected. This 'mech is meant to stay on the edges of a fight, watching for enemy lights to seperate from the group. It makes fast work of any of the lights I have encountered with it but if you get locked into a brawl you are likely to overheat. Hit and Run is the name of the game. Myth.h34r:
I'd accept slower for more resilience, so I tweaked mine a bit. Posting here because of the similarity.
