Utilizing the stock XL- good mid-long range punch and manageable heat. Use an XL280 if you have it (as the weight is identical), but the speed increase is minimal so it's not really worth buying if you don't already own one. Swap for ERLL if you want a little more range and are willing to manage your heat more aggressively. Can also drop a ton of ammo and upgrade to XL290 if you're a good shot, or add an additional heat sink so you can use those LL a little more.

It feels way too hot for the alpha and DPS. Several times now I've had my opponent dead-to-rights, but needed to bail at the last second in order to cool off.

Yeah, it does run a little bit hot, and isn't really a brawler setup. You have to manage heat and make good use of your JJ and cover, but I've gotten pretty good numbers with it. Thanks for your feedback, though. :)

To further clarify, and I should have stated this in my original post, this mech is meant to deliver pinpoint strikes to damaged sections of a mech at medium range in a fire-support role. It's definitely more effective when rolling with a team than when lone-wolfing.

This is a five star really, I think TS had redesigned his original and the score does not reflect this. The pinpoint damage, speed and JJ make this a Wardancer. I intended to post it as such but it was already made. :)

I'll take this for another spin (now that I know the Shadowhawk better), and see if my opinion changes.

It's too hot to be a five star imho. A five star means that this is one of the best builds you can make, but given the restriction you have to apply when using the weapons - especially on hot maps - you'll be in spectator mode or in shut down for a lot of time - and shut down pretty much means you'll get blown up with this thing. Not a grinding build. I'm torn between a 3 and a 4, I think I'll withhold rating it until I got the elites and see if 2x cool run will improve things a bit.

Here's a tweak that drops 2 jump jets, a ton of ammo, and sizes down to an XL260 engine to add 3 heat sinks. You could conceivably also drop down to an XL250 and shave a half ton of armor or a JJ to add one more heat sink but that's the most you could do (as you'd then be out of internal slots).

It still feels wrong. It needs to be faster, cooler, more survivable, or more damaging. Any one might do the trick.

I was going to post my build, but found this one here.

I have to say, this is a wicked little build that can put out some ridiculous damage if you play conservatively and with some discipline. I just posted a 717 with this guy in a match a bit ago, which is what solidified me on it.

As the OP says, you have to be careful when playing this guy. You are a 55 tonner... not the tip of the spear, not the damage soak.. you are the extra few guns on that atlas, or the guy in the middle of the pack of heavies. I used the AC/10 on the shoulder to massive advantage to fire over friendlies, while using them as cover. I call this build "My Little Victor" as it is almost identical playstyle, halving the AC/20 of course. This is a LOT of long range firepower on a medium 'mech.

I opt to drop a JJ and some armor to put in another Heat Sink. I find it works very well. Also, if I rely on my AC/10, I find I to MUCH more damage. The 2xLL are a GREAT backup weapon and are useful for scan hitting multiple enemies for CBILLZ>>>!!!!

    5/5!
