This is a build I thought up while at work, I have not tested it yet. Though it is a variation of a build I already have running. The only difference is that it does not have an AMS and has Endo-Steel to free up some weight for another LRM20. It has four medium lasers as back up weapons in case enemies get to close or if you run out of rockets. could drop down the engine to add an AMS and possibly more missiles. Not perfect in any way, but nothing ever is. you can see one build that works great for one person but is useless to you depending on your play style. Just a fun build with lots of missiles. With it your missiles will blot out the sun.
I like this build but I'd like it more with more LRM ammo. I'm tinkering with one with a STD engine that has about 4 more tons but small lasers or only 2 mediums instead of the 4 you have. its hard to tell which way to go with it sometimes but i think if you're going to build the whole thing around 3 LRM 20's that you should just go all the way with it and give yourself enough ammo to do well with
Because of missile tube limitations, if you group fire all 3 LRM20s what you actually get is 40 then 20, and not 60 all at once. You should take a look at the other LRM build if you want to make a missile boat.
Alphastrike with triple LRM20 is too hot for sustained fire. Besides due to tube.sizes you get two successive volleys of 40+20, which is not bad but could be optimized with 2x LRM15 + 2x LRM10. When chainfiring you get a stream of 15+5, 10+10, 15+5. The 15s/10s are ok but the 5s are weak against AMS. On the other hand you have too low ammo for LRM20. 18 Alphas and you are empty. 1440 missiles and you can compete against the AWS-8R. Anything less is underpowered. You might load BAP & TAG as well to buff your engagements against ECM.Mechs - the Horror of all Missile Boats.
As others have mentioned, the optimized missile loadout for a Missile Battlemaster is 2 LRM 15's and 2 LRM 10's, as you can fire them without having 2 seperate streams. Though to avoid ghost heat, you'll have to space 0.50 seconds between firing each group of 2 15's and 2 10's.
