Greetings all! I am going to be purchasing my first victor very soon. I love the loadouts the mech can take and while building, I keep coming back to the same question... What is the best XL Engine that can be shared between them all? This Victor is awesome and I really like this build, but the XL380 looks like it would only reliably fit in a few different setups. For example, no way I could mount 2xLL and an AC/20 on there. Then I was thinking XL350, but it just does not fit quite right... I cannot decide!! So... if you had to pick one engine for all of your Victor Variants, which one would it be? Thanks, all!!
I use an XL320 in all my Victor builds, but, anything in the 320-350 range will allow you plenty of speed and still leave room for some weighty weapons.
Why?? Either take the XL320 (from CDA-3M or AWS-9M), or buy an XL350 because you can load more Heatsinks into the Engine. Besides it can be used to run some Mediums above 100 or even 110kph. E.g, the Kintaros
Got the XL325, XL350 and XL385 in three different Victor builds, used the 325 and 350 in plenty other mech builds but the 385 - only in one. Recommend either the '25 or the '50. Happy building
I use the XL320, XL340, and XL350. All these engines ensure Direct Firepower builds have sufficient ammo, and your mech has Armor and JJ. You can easily bang out 400 damage with the builds I use, but the do run QUITE hot. I won't tell you the builds, but they are quite commonly know as "cheese"
XL300 I find is the best one-size-fits most for Victors. A touch slow without tweak but plenty fast with it and enough tons left over to equip a solid weapon suite. The XL330 that comes with the Dragon Slayer is solid enough to use between other variants. Personally I like 300s, 350 when feeling the need for speed. Personally I feel the sacrifice in firepower and, more importantly (to me) range is too great to mount an engine larger than 350.
