Thank you sir for your honorful sacrifice to keep the game F2P! *bowing down before you* *crying rivers for your grand bravery & deep passion as a true worthy mechwarrior* But i have to say, that i still shoot you first for being an addictive f*cker!
It will actually be pay-to-lose. Those golden mechs, you can be sure they will be focus-fired like never
I certainly plan to leg any of them I see. Or take the arms. "Aaw, look who has no arms!" Team? Teams are color based. Red, blue, and gold. Everyone should kill gold first.
Addiction is the continued repetition of a behavior despite adverse consequences, or a neurological impairment leading to such behaviors. GJ with supporting the game. Anyway I still stick with my previous post. I just wanna say - new expensive content should not only be new maps and new mechs.
Let me think, if those were real golden figurines for $500 just to decorate my desk - ok, maybe i'd buy. Virtual Goldskin for being instant-killed ingame? no thx, no no. I bet most rich boyz get soo screwed that they switch back to normal skin to be not recognized. Haha
I look at the Golden Mechs like I do lottery tickets. I'm glad someone is else is voluntarily paying a bunch of extra taxes so there are less for me to pay. Same goes for the Gold mechs, I hope lots of people buy them and they can use the extra money to make the game better, it just won't be me. The Daishi was the mech on the list I really wanted and I was considering dropping the 120 on that pack. After reading the dev notes on not being able to customize anything on the clan mechs except the weapons, I think I'm going to wait and go strictly c-bills.
PLEASE DO NOT SPREAD THE MEAN SPIRIT! Everyone knows you leg the gold one first, then you disarm them and leave them alone. You then have a giant legged golden turkey slowly limping around the map. Must be wonderful seeing that in alpine.
I am surprised by how many people voted to make purchase of individual mechs available, but up the cost of the package per mech received. Very interesting...
If you disagree thats fine, but don't take my quote without the explanation, and also explain why you disagree? They are both completely voluntary ways to spend money that end up supporting the people not spending the money basically with little or no gain.
You can at least win technically when it comes to lottery tickets. The gold mech are just stupid. I understand things like cooler banner and titles and forum icons, and they are all good. But the Golden Turd is basically something less effective for more $$$. At the very least let the players change the skin or something. Right now it is just a giant target for all to see that makes things less effective. It is not even a good choice on the battlefield in case you want to show off. If they want to do something like that to raise money then they should make it so that the mech can look less obvious than full gold but with a cool custom paint job, and a special sound effect triggered when he enters the game/room, and maybe when he get a kill like HeavyMetal. Then it is playable and cool, without being too much of an annoyance. It has nothing to do with rare expensive Magic Cards or something like he says, a Black Lotus is a effective thing at least, and the high value does not go to WotC. This is more like how IF william shatner decides to sell the used underwears he had during the startrek filmings for money, something completely useless, yet overpriced. Basically you don't get the appreciation you deserve even if you were a fanboy willing to spend the cash. As for clan mechs, You can still customize the modules I think, on top of the ammo and weapons. In a way I do like those restrictions though. Just hope that you don't end up with 9 different weapon groups cause of that. Will find way to min/max still.
Hail, Is it outside the software agreement to sell your MWO account? If so, what value would be placed on Mastered Mechs? If you could sell it, then spending the money on these "Packs" would be less of a risk and right now from a Finance perspective, Return on Investment is declining.... Because we do not actually have the ability for Private Matches or Servers allowing for League play, are they continuing to push off Community Warfare understanding it is the end game? Reading the latest release notes, I wondered to myself "who the f*ck" asked for cockpit glass as a deliverable? Or Music? These are totally wasted development cycles and I can only think they are being worked on to intentionally delay progress on what is being requested. Based on our Clans discussions regarding additional revenue for PGI, I can say the majority have shutdown that happening. Seyla, P.S. I threw the "F word" in just to stay within Soys posting guidelines
Yes, it is currently against your agreement to attempt to sell your account. If you are found to have attempted this your account will be banned outright which will really hurt your return on investment.
I've tried selling my account at least ten times now. No takers, lol surprise. Btw something thats been annoying me today... I can't really figure out what exactly justifies such a large increase in sticker price. I really can't. Variants, a 5 min exercise in coding redundancy, is not a justification. Did they hire 20 new people to work on the art? Did some extremely large group of phantom players suddenly start playing and thus PGI had to increase their infrastructure, potentially capital? Notice this speculation is about as asinine as speculating about the licensing of the BT/MW ip and how signals success, simply cuz we don't have numbers so we don't know a damn thing.
Disclaimer: I am not actually saying that I want to sell my account (violating the Terms of Service). I was actually saying, that if you could sell Mechs, equipment (like they allow in Star Citizen) then sorting out the value would be driven by the market. Right now we are all trying to sort out how they determined the pricing. You hit the nail on the head asking, why are they saying they are more expensive because of the Tech, then turning around and nerfing to balance. Seyla,
