Next Mech - Feb 4?

Just listened to the NGNG 100 podcast and Russ Bullock said there would be a new hero mech... new chassis that has not been announced. It is a light.

And no, it is not the panther. He actually said no panther.

Any thoughts?

 

Why would they release the flea before MASC? And didn't OP say that this was "a new chassis that has not been announced"? The Flea was announced.

It seams strange if the next hero is of an unreleased mech, since it would mean they release the standard variants two weeks later (like they did for Orions, Kintaros, etc). The Griffin (or Wolverine, I don't remember) is supposed to be released in February, I really don't think they'll release two mechs in a month.

As a light hero mech id want a 3L with JJ's would actually buy thats as it would be OP

 

I am guessing Firestarter. The Flea like the Locust would unfortunately be of limited use unless it had excellent modules/ECM. The addition of MASC would be awesome especially if they add it to other mech chassis or introduce other variants such as the Cataphract 3L.

 

IMHO Firestarter would be OP. It loses a bit of speed compared to the Jenner but can mount more weapons AND one of the variants has ECM. A worthy trade in my book.

The problem with many of these suggestions is that there aren't enough distinct variants to be able to make up the three required mechs for the chassis. I originally thought it was the Urby, but really, all the hardpoints are basically the same across all variants, they just switch out the autocannons. Same could also be said of the Hollander (which additionally wasn't released until 3053).

That said, I'm now hoping for a Firefly. Seven energy hardpoints and jumps? Yes, please!

 

well i make a complete random guess and say the Toro! I mean probrably only one of them is left in the current timeline; first periphery mech in mwo and i mean no one would expect it. So it would make zero sense to add it.
So it would end as a hero only mech in a hero skill tree with two other odd mech in it that shouldn't be there like a hector or a von rohrs for extreme troll!

But if you want to know what i expect is the Venom. Fear the spiders with 5 more tons!

 

Bushwacker

 

Firefly has 3 distinct varients up to 3050 1 with ecm
Mongoose only has 2, but PGI doesn't really follow canon
Wasp has at least 3

 

Bushwacker is a med 55t mech, & not produced till 3058
