I decided to use this build to basic the 5M on my way to eliting my new misery (yay!). It turns out that this build is quite a force to be reckoned with. I prefer PPCs over Lasers at range, and the LPLas are great at closer range. My only regret is the ML in the CT. Perhaps I should move one of the LPLas there instead to make it a more effective zombie. But I really enjoy the high placement of the heavy weaponry.

I've decided to elite the 5M too now. Originally it was just meant to be a stepping stone to an elited misery, but I'm quite enjoying this build!

Barry is pretty effective. Sure, he runs a bit hot but that alpha is a kicker!

The heat isn't an issue if you just pay attention to it. Have had a blast with this build and it has become my most consistent high scoring mech lately. Many light mechs have paid the price rushing in!

The ML is a weird addition. Also, the heat IS a problem. such a low efficiency is just not effective in a match on a hot map (50% of the games), as you'll be hiding for 30 seconds after one alpha. I used to run my Hunchback with a very low efficiency but also a 48 point alpha. While it was very fun for a while, I found out that it's simply not as effective as it could be and was thus kinda gimping my team and therefore my fun.

    I think this is better:

Easier to manage and I checked, the extra DHS gives better sustained DPS than 1 ML. Downside: slower, 5 less burst in 270 m.
40% still forces you to go cover pretty often, the heat dissipation is used effectively. Efficiencies of around 55% are the maximum ratio for me personally before you start dissipating more heat that I actually use, including taking cover or disengaging (this varies per player).
