With the recent updates to LRMS and the much feared LRMageddon. I thought it would be cool to have a long range support atlas capitalizing on this. I didn't see a DDC variant capitalizing it, and although it wouldn't be my preferred build for the DDC, I thought it might be interesting. Curious what everyone thinks of this.
This is a 1.April built, isnt it? Cut this AMS and downsize Lrm15+A to Lrm10+A, add 1to Lrm-ammo and use the restweight as armor to the legs.
Why would it be an April fool build? AMS on a D-DC is certainly not wasted tonnage. First, it helps your team. Second, don't think your ECM makes you immune to missiles, it's actually the opposite: you'll be the primary target of any decent LRM-boat. 15+10 is indeed better than 15+15 because of how many tubes the hardpoints have. Artemis... bwah, if you want to gain tonnage it's the first thing to remove. But if you really want to know why this build deserves a 1 star rating, it's not because it's badly conceived. It's because it stimulate a bad playstyle only worthy of selfish players. A D-DC is not meant to stay behind under its soft ECM bubble when its teammates are taking fire. Oh, sure, with all those missiles and long range weapons, not to mention you will be dying after your pack, you will have dealt damage and think you're a boss. While in fact your lousy behavior and lack of teamplay might have cost your team the victory. As the only "heavy" ECM carrier, the D-DC is meant to be the backbone of the pack, providing firepower as well as ECM cover and tankability. So please, pack some SRMs and large autocanons and join the forking front-line!
