I am unsure about the apparent lack of side torso. ... although it appears that you could totally miss this mech by firing through it's arm pit
Apparently the Missile pods are part of the side torso if you check the hardpoint locations. If that remains the case, this mech is going to go down very quick even if both torsos need to get blown off to kill a clan XL engine...
Woah, a PGI staff member actually peruses these forums? Color me surprised. Maybe my voice won't be drowned out by the mas- Oh wait no the QQ is still too strong. Lol. Anyways back on topic, I was talking about PGI painting them different colors, like giving them a Clan Wolf Alpha Galaxy paint scheme, or a Jade Falcon scheme, one of the major clans at least!
Why yes that's a brilliant idea! Rainbow colours might suite the madcat just purrrfectly! Now go make that happen Niko!
No mech in this game is worth money. I think it should have a lower center of gravity, personally, as well.
Well that's a point of view but then I buy the packs to reduce the cost/mech. How much did the Boars Head work out at as that made even me wince? Amusing thing is I don't regret it... the LM though... even I found that mech hard to stomach but that was more based on how awful it was.
Looks kind of neat, but I'm more interested in seeing what the Daishi looks like. I might pick up a Daishi if it looks cool.
Will always like the TRO best. However! The later screenshots actually look damn good - the leg size issue won't be an issue.
My guess is that like some of the IS mech we have now the shoulder mounted missile box is not a hit box (the ones you can remove by not equipping does not seem to be a hitbox at all). Seems to have limited space for equipping stuff with both FF and ES, along with XL, but remember CLan DHS is smaller, and equipment is different. I am thinking of 2xSSRM4(confirmed existance in some of the config in the packages) along with 3x ERLLas, 2x ERMLas, then a ballistic.
Well don't forget we can just swap weapon pod to change the hard points so rather waiting for the full list. Dread to think how much the pods and clan items will cost. I've set myself the next 2 months to churn isk now I've finally just mastered the last heavy.
It's pretty, but it is still a dirty clan 'Mech. Also, I still want video of it. Stills are one thing, video? Even better.
Looks nice, but I still want to see the full stats sheet on the Nova. 12xMLas as default armament? Sounds like a Jenner eater
I really like the looks although I am also worried about those large LRM-launchers (= side torso hitbox) as it could get very tricky with XL engines if they do not "tweak" it in any way. On a side note: If they would interchange the two red marked hardpoints LA: 2E LT: 1E, 1M CT: 1B RT: 1B, 1M RA: 2E this would probably be the perfect all purpose/adopt meta mech with two LRMs and/or two ACs in the sides, TAG in the center and Laser/PPC in the arms Looking foward to Vulture / Masakari
True...I think it'll depend on what extra engines they put out, and what the max possible speed is when they release. If you can get a Nova fast enough, and still keep most of those MLas on there...especially if there's an ECM model (unlikely)...oh god, the thing would be a horror. Still, with 12xMLas, that's a 60 point alpha...nasty even in the worst situations. And I'm sure you'll overheat doing it, but it might still look flashy
Honestly, I think large side torsos are less of a problem than they seem to be. You need to kill both of them, so you'll need to go for more armor and internal armor. It's as if you go for legs on a heavy, except that on most builds the side torsos will have more armor and killing one leg would hamper movement greatly (ensuring death) while taking out weapons only lowers their output. Then again, I would like to see chassis-based components, like separate components for the missile boxes and such as you had in MW4.
2x30 point alpha is deadly enough. And for the record, a well placed 60 point alpha would one shot things, used to run 6x PPC or 6x LLas before ghost heat and engine damage. [/quote] There used to be files where there are seperate box for the "bunny ears" of the mech. Well at least it did exist for the early MWO development. Maybe we can have those back?
