Ran with you for a few matches in this a couple nights ago. Very interesting concept. I love the mix of ranged attack and up-close assault! I still haven't thrown it together on my FB, but, I will very soon. You obviously can use it to devastating effect!

Slowing down 12 kph for good ammo values compared to Destroyer 1.0. Definitely an upgrade in damage potential and judging from your score it's still plenty to get in AC20 range.
Will be putting this into some use (the meta-build has to go some day).

An idea for making it better at range is to exchange the AC20 for a somewhat easier-to-aim longer range weapon like the AC10. You lose very notable burst within 400m (where it's easier to aim anyway) though so I'm not sure if it's worth it, but the projectile speeds will be more similar and the weapon can thus be more easily used aside the 'sniping weapons'.

The AC10/PPC combo is devastating and something I've recently employed on my CTF-1X. You can equip an XL280 or XL300 (or backup ML :p) or stick with your XL255 and exchange the PPC for 2 LL to fire alongside your UAC5 double tap)

As far as I know the latter build is similar to your Atlas set-up (with less armor)

However, the first time I tried this build with an AC20 I was already blown away (my enemies even more so)! First game 707 damage! Second game 705! Will need to see the potential on terra therma/tourmaline but this is like a good version of the AC40 jager :p

I've tried wiggling the weapons a bit but nothing seems to be worth losing the AC20 for.

Terra Therma and other hot maps don't cause much problem because you can always cut out your PPC after the Alpha and just lay on your UAC and AC20 for 8 dps until you cool enough to fir the PPC again.

Either way, glad I got someone to try it :)

I don't think its all that similar to a Boom Jager cuz it has effective range when the AC20 can't reach.

The better version of the Boom Jager to me is in this thread: Hell's Fury

Higher Alpha, more dps, crit seeking LPL, no ammo problems.

UAC fires fast enough to be considered a '10 damage burst' in most cases, combined with PPC and AC20 = 40 damage is what I meant. Combined with the jamming of the UAC5 which is kinda like waiting for cooldowns on a boomjager. The effective range is indeed what sets it apart and makes it much scarier from the standard.

yepp, it's better than the popular and effective BoomJag. I like it. I played with Sub7 last night and well, I don`t believe that he is a good pilot , but i can testify that he ran couple of highscore rounds with this easily.. So you get my full stars, dude!

btw. in my upcoming video Sub7 uses this build. Will be online in some few hrs. Still editing.

EDIT: Here it is, you can see his damage output on the scoreboard

p.s. anyone tried this build already?

don`t know how it performs, but just came up with a more unified weapons design for mid-long range Sniping by keeping a good Alphapunch. It`s very similar to Trounce's Turn Down For What
While the PPC needs 4seconds to recycle you can fire the AC10s after 2.5 already again. AC10s are great if coupled in pair!

It was mentioned that LPLs are critical seeking. Following this information i played with mechlab and came up with this:

At some point I added ferro fibrous and now i don't want to spend the c-bills to remove it so i build my Firebrand tank-like. This combination gives plenty of AC20 ammo and can be combined with the pulse lasers for maximum effect and as you guys mentioned critical seeking pulse lasers.
The last weapon in the arsenal is the LPLaser which, if it is true about critical seeking, it should be a devastating blow at close range. The LPL gives you a bit of range to a point where you can easily close the gap and continue the pounding up close. It may be switched for a PPC, ERPPC or ERLLas for a sniping purpose just have to manage the heat accordingly. Also remember the weapon ranges, just because it says it reaches a max range of above 1000 meters it does not mean you will get the maximum damage of the weapon, it will be a reduced rate. What I mean to say is that in this game there are [glow=red,2,300]no real long ranged[/glow] weapons.
