http://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/160443-clan-and-is-weapon-update/ Ok no surprise I guess but still mildly disappointing. Clan ER PPC's will do 15 pts but just 10 to the primary area and 2.5 to two connected area's (excess lost if you hit an area with just one connected location). Clan Gausses - can only charge 2 at once. Clan autocannons - rather than raging I'll just post it here .... Clan LRM's - not ready so will have the standard 180m minimum range at first. Once system is in place:
So, basically, the clan weapons are NOT READY. LRM is not ready, AC is totally not ready. I don't mind only being able to charge 2 to gauss, and the PPC one kinda sucks but not too bad I guess.
I really don't know what to think about the volley fire tbh. If its a stream of damage its just like a big MG with no crit bonuses. If its a cluster how is that different to a LBX???? :whacko:
Don't be sad because you won't have streak20s. Until I see precise game mechanic description or test it myself, it all looks unbalanced to me. (to be honest, the more they nerf clan weapons the happier I am)
Well, I don't mind them nerfing the things a bit, in fact, it is a good thing they put the clan mechs at +10 ton calculation and what not. And not being able to switch ammo just sucks. I was hoping that they can fix the IS lbx10 now also. What I don't like is that they are totally NOT READY at all. LRM are supposed to do damage at close range, though I understand the point-blank LRM20 problem. I don't mind them working like that missile bug we had some time ago where things do minimal to no damage point blank, which is a good thing. If you cannot change it to that then let them have a shorter min damage range, 150m would make them much more deadly.
There's no such thing as streak LRM 20's until 3057.... By then we have Heavy Assault Gauss etc. The big thing atm is that clan LRM's take a lot less weight and slightly less space so why would you not use them on a missile boat? Personally I've never got on with LRM's so Streaks are a better bet for me. Main worry for me is more the lack of ECM and minimal AMS (except for the Summoner D with dual AMS and the Daishi/Timberwolf with a single each). That's presuming you want to lose 2 ballistic slots on the Daishi or a ballistic and missile slot on the Timberwolf to even get the AMS slot. Makes that pop tarting Summoner look a lot more useful as it'll probably have the only AMS and its dual.
I thought they said they had no intentions of "fixing" the IS LB 10-X at all, as it completely obsoletes the AC/10. Every single mech that mounts an AC 10 would swap out for an LB 10-X and get a free extra ton of ammo for it! Improved AC munitions don't become available until 3059 (3053, if they brings it in as early as the Fed Com prototypes...) The one way I could see it not obsoleting the AC 10 is to reduce the firing rate so that LB 10-X DPS is lower than the AC 10. Another is to further reduce projectile speed. (That said, DHS pretty much obsoletes SHS, so the obsolescence argument is weak, IMO.) I can't wait until the timeline never reaches MMLs and ATMs. Selectable ammo types with variable range profiles? I think yes.
I am not and won't ever be sad. I'll still beat you bloody with my clan tech no matter how much they nerf it
I fly the true red and gold, but I also have the claws of a bear. Ghost bear has always been my favorite clan, and while I'll stick with the rangers because I love those guys, I'll always be a ghost bear at heart.
Fairly sure what tech you use has nothing to do with your allegiance in this game.... That or you can all get out of my Victor's.
hmm from what i can see the clan ppcs can become realy dangerous to xl mounting IS mechs. Even if you use your arms to shield your side torsos will get damaged, taking hits to the ct side torsos get damaged and that combined with maybe a few hits to the side torso can get ugly realy quick (atleast if you are using IS xls)
I just love teasing people who want to be one thing but use the good points of the other. Imagine my entertainment if they would let IS pilots use Clan tech Seriously though, if you bought the package and can afford it then hey, run whatever you want. We do have Clan avatars available now. Just sayin'
