The Thor doesnt seem to have much choices for me as the JJ's limit the weight quite a bit. but they give you the ability to be a poptart and with this build you still have closerange capability ams overload feels like a must on this mech feel free to comment
This is the Summoner -D I've been using from day 1 on. Some adjustments will make this thing work even better. First of all, put both ERPPCs in one arm. This will not only improve weapon convergence when poptarting, but also lets you activate the other arm's lower arm actuators, as this arm only mounts lasers. Secondly, use your DHS for some crit padding in the arms. You won't need them anyway if one of them get's blown of, and it's better if one of the DHS is destroyed instead of a weapon should your arm get a critical hit. Finally, head armor is a little bit low for my taste, but that's it.
What I've been running...I don't miss the AMS or MG's...and I have to have some kind of indirect fire for the beginning of the match, keeps me from getting bored and charging to my death in 15 seconds
I switched to 2x cERSL instead of the mediums and added a TC1. The latter could also be another DHS, but I wanted to try the TC1. Enileph's idea about using the prime arm is very good. Might try that one as well.
Double post 4tw. I tested Enileph's proposal, and alltough I thought it was a good idea, I couldn't get it to work as well as I wanted it to. I don't know, it might has something to do that I am right handed, but those LA mounted cERPPCs went into hills and buildings at a pretty high rate, so I gave up on that one. My latest build - replacing the LA cERMLas with cERSLas and adding a TC1 - works pretty good for me. I am currently running just an AMS range module, but am considering the one for the cERSLs for this build.
I don't remember if heat values changed since this was originally posted, but right now this is unusably hot IMHO. Heck, 2x cERPPC alone, even with 24 heat sinks, are too hot in most maps.
