I didn't understand why the map designer didn't pick Crimson Strait as a comparable until I saw the lighting. I think they purposely used the sodium-yellow lighting because it gave a different look to the re-used buildings.
Guesses or was that in the V-Log? (Can't access the link from work) My initial guess was dropships as otherwise a rich large unit would have a huge advantage. Now if I can build whatever unit I'm in a home (isk sink!) that doesn't unbalance stuff I'm all for it. PS: yes I'm that person who always spent ages beautifying their home in every MMO they played.
You will probably be able to buy planet strongholds and fortifications with MC... a faction could invest money to keep a planet all to themselves with the best money can buy. Hopefully this will not be the case.
That would be called a Capital... i wouldnt be surprised if Tharkad, and New Avalon are fortified to the point that planetary disintigration would be necessary to remove the faction from the planet, within 24 hours of the foritfication system going live....
Not worth 18 mins of my time to watch, but I'm guessing it's some morons who don't deserve a job in the game industry talking about a bunch of junk that will get delayed for a while.
Wow such animosity... Seriously benefit of the doubt, they havent been the best developers in the history of gaming but they are far from morons who dont deserve jobs. Secondly... Do you have a Mechwarrior/Battletech IP game to play right now? Yes.... Has the developer cut and run with your money and everything you paid for them to develop to make another game yet? No.... Have they determined its a fail and buried it in a back room like the IP license holder (MICROSOFT) did with it? No.... Dont be so pessimistic and be happy you have a developer period that wants to atleast attempt to provide you with a big stompy battletech robot to play in... Is it the best MW game ever, no but atleast its viable and here and not "Mechassault"
Generally just presume that anything Soy says will be bitter vitriol (if you're not sure what I mean just look at his past posts) ..... but actually have some good stuff in occasionally. His mech builds are usually very solid if dated. Its really depressing the moments when you find yourself agreeing with him on a point. PS: He seems to have a reputation on a lot of mechwarrior forums.... PPS: Same way in fairness you should generally presume any post I make will be overly positive as I actively play and enjoy the game.
Hehe... I mean... I wouldn't post here if I didn't care about the game, the IP, the community... But as far as respecting PGI or IGP, lol naaaa. They don't respect me personally, and they don't respect their community as a whole. I've never seen such an unprofessional group of people running in a commercial retail game in nearly 20 years of online gaming. If you actually go thru my posts - which would be both a waste of time and creepy - you'd note that I am a huge white knight when it comes to the game, the IP, and the playerbase. Conversely, if you went around looking for me dropping vitriol it's usually pretty sparse, but when it's there I rarely pull my punches (why should I). Lately, if an opportunity arises where I can take 15, 20 secs to drop a lil turd on the people running the game, I'll usually take advantage of it... time is ticking, and I see the game dying. Heads rolling etc, that sorta thing. I could, of course, simply go pull threads from a year or two ago where I'm fighting off 4, 5 biased, threatening, cryhard whiners who sling real mud and make actual threats on the official forums over miniscule issues, there's a lot of examples...
