MWO game server address? What I get is: oo_backend_server_address = "192.99.109.129" Is this the same with you? Why I am asking is that things seem to lag much more after the server change.
I have more lag issues too. I am at work, so I cannot check sorry. They moved to another server, but they did not say it will improve the gameplay. I mean, with all this sales, the high prices of clan packages, they seem to be searching for funds. Perhaps have they moved to a lower performance server...
They said that there were two reasons for change. 1st was lower costs, 2nd was that EU players would get lower ping values, my ping went down from 200-250 to 125-150, so i'm a very happy panda.
mine moved up to 3xx. >.< Pretty sure not my computer problem also. Lowered all graphics and even lock te fps down to 10 and the game still rubberbands. Most be something they do to the new server. Things were better on the first 2 days of migration.
I'm not noticing any more lag the previously, but my ping did go from ~60ms to 80-90ms, which I guess isn't terrible but still annoying. A tracert seems to show that the new server is in Quebec city.
If that IP is correct, my ping is now average 126, (lowest 125, highest 127) count 2200 pings (1 sec apart) thats damn stable. Cant say for playing quality as I have not played after the move.
Asia. The thing is that on the first day or two of the move things are not noticably slow. Only after the newer patch. I am not sure if them trying to move the forum account for some mucking up of things though. But yeah, it is pretty bad, I cannot aim correctly, and clicking zoom take almost one second for it to work. Only thing remotely working is lrm, and even then the lock sometimes does not come out. It is a joke to try running around with lights or medium, and even for sniper it is a problem, and lrm barely works.
Could PGI get an address that does not have so much lag? They need to move the lag down the street or even a few blocks over.
Yeah I had a particular "moment" last night after 3 battles in a row with desync. Strange thing is after a reboot it stopped. I have a completely new monitor though and my FPS has tanked as well so not sure whats causing my woes atm. Going to run it a few days more and then try disabling G-Sync to see what effect that has because if I tab in and out of the client while waiting for a match that definitely kills my FPS. Irony is my ping has improved quite a bit so things should be better.
I am playing in asia. Ping is increased by a huge amount, my ping goes from the previous 200ish max to the current high 300ish. Lots of lag spike and rubberbanding, at first I though it was my pc's problem but other games I play in are just fine as is. Current tracert, takes 13 steps. It is being sent through europe instead of crossing the pacific ocean like it used to be. Frankly speaking I am quite disappointed at the whole situation. I see it being routed through it.eu then de.eu and fr.eu. NOT a good sign. Please help find a solution asap. I really love this game and really want to see it playable (right now you cannot even LRM nicely). Thanks. You've been playing it for the last couple of years but now it is called something different, new and exciting.
