I might get the less expensive package to support a game I'm liking so far, but it's my first game of the series. Should the Mist Lynx be a good mech? How is it usually outfitted?
Someone needs to dump screenshots of all the mechs in a news/feedback thread for discussion. I'm heading for work so no can do for the next 12h for me. Hope you guys noticed we will have a new permanent face on the battlefield, Hellbringer Prime is ECM capable (lore correct). Edit: Mist Lynx C is also ECM. Hmm...
I'm a little pissed, that the Vulture C (2G) is not there.... oh well, maybe we get an extra pod..... Koshi TRO-Loadouts: PRIME 2MG/LRM10/SSRM4 A FL/TAG/2MG/2AMS/2APOD B 2ERM/ERS/2SRM6 C ERL/ERM/AMS/ECM D ERM/ERS/UAC2 175XL; ENDO/FF/CASE 6 JJ's and BAP are included in every variant, so I think they will be unremovable mounts.
Mist lynx with ecm has six and a half tons of pod space and only goes 113KPH base speed its dead jim....
The usual... most pilots overestimate the power of speed on lights. Use your brains, use the terrain and your weapon loadout smart, and you will do great even in a 100kph-light. Let me break this down for you... Clan lights can not (and shouldn't) be compared to IS lights. For IS Lights speed is live. They're sneaky, they're fast, they spot you and hit you where it hurts. But most important, they can hold for a longer period on their own because they can run away form everything but other IS lights and the fastest mediums. They are most dangerous when packed together and will do damage over time. Clan lights are slower but better armed. They can be used as satellites around slower machines and play more a supportive role. (Best example is the ECM/3AMS Uller) They're not as sneaky as IS lights but still can surprise you by appearing on your flank. They bring the firepower of an IS medium for which 106,9 is still pretty fast. Also keep in mind that the 118kph of the Koshi are w/o speed tweak... so the maxspeed will be around 125kph once you unlocked it. 125kph armed with ECM, radar deprivation, 2AMS, TAG, NARC and maybe some SL for desperate measures. EDIT: I forgot: AND JJ'S!! So... imho IS lights are superior in mobility (thus also in dogfights) but the clan lights fulfill their role perfectly since they're not designed to go one on one.
126 on speed tweak sounds ok to me, sure it's not 170 but it'll bite some. Given that there's already a beagle mounted, streaks or simply scouting (sensor range) will already include that 1 ton. I like it. This also means that IS lights definantly have the speed advantage come CW, if not weapons. Interesting. Good summary by Midnite, on the role of a clan light that is.
That's correct. IS lights still have the advantage of speed and experience... for now.. ohhh, I'm looking at you Dasher! On the other hand most of the clan heavies move at 80 or faster retaining comparable firepower to their IS brethren and the assaults can pack a whoopass of massive firepower and still move pretty fast (apart form the DWF)... Just compare the Pretty Baby with the Gargoyle. Both have 400XL at their service... I wonder how a 1vs1 will end.... looking forward to it.
The Mist Lynx also includes 6 JJ as standard which would be nicer as removable but its an addition we shouldn't forget as the vast majority of IS mechs don't load up that many. Theres also the 129.6KPH+speed tweak 45 ton Ice Ferret (Ferro and Endo) .... but would you take it over a stormcrow?
Overall, the maneuverability and speed of all the clan mechs, not counting assaults except the Gargoyle, is something that will mean a lot on the 12 man scene. Wheeling the whole team at 80+ makes for hard times for a slower IS team. I will seriously think twice about which mechs I use when answering defense calls in FRR vs Ghost Bears.
On a totally different subject - I love the different clan colour/patterns for mechs. Most look superb but I'm dubious about the Clan Wolf one as can't see why its not black and red. Just think its a great idea as helps give the feeling that each faction is a seperate entity.
Well you seem to grasp the current clan lights but the Misty is a differant animal. First off is not 118 kph base its 113. Thats per mwo website. The second thing is it has the firepower of a spider at best unless you want to have a very small ammo bin. Now that that is cleared up why in an organized team will I send this thing to be raped by an emeber or jenner etc when it cant out fight it or out run it.

WHAT NOW? I thought we would receive the whole package on sept 23rd.... so now I only get the Mad Dog? That makes me mad, dawg!
Me no like Blingbling mecha...I see one, he's prime.... gold pieces for everyone.... Seriously. I don't know anybody who ever even thought about buying the 500$ Mechpack. One of our Unit Members is a community mod, he has all goldmechs in his Mod-Account... but that's pretty much it. Maybe he can lend a hand.... stop givin' me the wrong ideas!!!
Not sure about free slots and heat. But this is my preliminary LRM-spammer vulture. MLx4 LRM15x2 LRM10x2 LRM5x1 NARCx1 NARC Ammo x1 (12 shots) LRM Ammo x6 TAGx1/BAPx1 LRM 1/2 Tone x1 The last bit is dependant on the choice between tag and bap. I'd be more inclined to take a BAP over a tag as I already have a narc. Thoughts and ideas? (Very early WIP, be nice)
Ummh.... Taken when I was helping anyone I could to get their points last competition. Ran into someone with the same mech as I owned so for a laugh we went on a drop in matching mechs.
Fuck I boght the wrong package! I was going for ManOWar but I bought the Koshi package instead on accident. Is there an upgrade function on this thing like the Wave 1?
Just talk to customer support. I got a Masakari package originally then upgraded to Gold but had to get the first refunded via Customer Service to do it. Though there could be an upgrade function.
