I LOVE my i7 3770K. I was bottle-necked on my i5 prior, so it helps my system out a lot. Also a God-send for video editing and rendering. Totally worth it imo
I'm using the following now Intel Core i7 2600K Quad Core Unlocked Hyperthreading Processor LGA1155 3.4GHZ Sandy Bridge 8MB Not sure if that is bottlenecking my 780 Ti He's selling what is listed up top for $300 (with stock cooler) or $325 with the extra cooler. Brand new the i7 3770k seems to be the same damn price as my 2600?!?!
I got my 3770k for $180 locally. Great cpu for crunching videos and the like. General tasks and most games were indistinguishable from my i3 3220, though, which is a hell of a dual core processor.
I got my 3770k w/ ASUS p8z77 deluxe v mobo for $345 on ebay last month. Just a used 3770k isn't a good deal at $300... you could probably get it at least $50 cheaper with only a little more patience.
That ship has sailed already lol I'm going to stay with my 2600k until I decide to do a whole new system next year.
Went with the Intel Xeon E3-1231V3 Haswell / 3.4 GHz - 4 cores in my brand-new computer. It's basically the server variant of an i7, only missing the GP unit, but which you won't need if you're not heavily into rendering and stuff because gamers will have a 'real' graphic card anyway. My graphic card of choice was the MSI 770 Twin Frozr, so I think I am served quite well. Bottom line about the Xenon CPU: this choice saves easily about 1/4 in comparsion to the i7 cousin.

No need to resurrect this thread LOL this potential is long since over. I stuck with my 2600K and will just build a new computer when SC comes out.
