The New MechSpecs.com Theme - You Can Help Decide

I like the current Mechspecs Version 3 Theme. It may not be the fanciest one, but It's clear and good for reading. However, I liked the old one, too. What I don't like is black background and white letters. This might look cool, but reading more than a few sentences makes my eyes aching. If you choose one of those unreadable Themes, please at least offer an alternative.

Also, a mobile theme or a theme with mobile support would be great.

 

There is a theme with mobile support. I'm using it now. I'm on my nexus 5. The adense banner stretches a but but everything else is built around reaponsive framework.

 

Whats really embarassing is I can't remember the old one.

So voted new.

 

yeah it does work on mobile safari on my good old phone, too. Which is great. Just wanted to state that I prefer usability over fancy design, which is probably not a magnet to new users

CLAN FALCON THEME!

I like dark themes. Others like bright ones.
My suggestion is to add a few themes, and allow folks to save their favorite under their own profile. Could even be clan/faction based?

First thing I did when I saw the new site was change the theme... to my horror. It was obvious only one was setup correctly as I chose the other and nothing was right.

I also understand this takes more work & time, so it may not be possible. If that is the case my preference would be something not extremely light or extremely dark.

Also, nice work on having the theme be "mobile aware" but not totally different in the mobile space. locking the format to a specific size (no zoom) on mobile is frustrating so please don't go that far!

Nice work so far guys! I'll try to post some example themes of the not-too-bright-or-dark idea. (the old theme was actually a good example of this)

 

Custom themes is something that I have been thinking about actually. This, of course, would be a Benefactor perk. This site framework is easily able to handle it; it is just a question of if I have the time to do it all LOL

Top one costs $ but you might find similar that do not. Brown / Orange / Yellow seemed to be your thing before. Good luck getting everyone to agree on a theme though. This task will be a rough one I am sure.

One thing I came to learn very early on is that I will never get 100% of the people on here to agree with each other, or with me, 100% of the time. I also learned that ultimately the buck stops here.

 

Theme that can change/choose the number of threads per page displayed would be nice also.

 

How many threads per page do you need? I can adjust that myself but I believe it is site wide and not selectable.
