Once again another epic build on a chassis that just begs for guns and zappy pointy things. Works on any chassis. Oh and have a vid to prove it ;)
    that's right... I'M BACK BABY!

I just started running my DWF-Prime with dang near identical setup... just been using the C-ERLL's instead of the C-LPL's... while I haven't rocked the damage shown in your screen shot, I've been pretty happy with what I've been getting... (not an assault pilot typically)

I think I'll put this on my DWF-P now that ERPPCs are so slow. Looks fun :D

I was thinking to do something like that after the ERLL nerf.
    My version :

This is the new meta :phear:
I played a couple of matches and i'm converted. Firing the LPLs is heat neutral.

Extremely similar to the "Alpha-Crit" on the B variant by Caspian111. (found here: http://www.mechspecs.com/forum/index.php?topic=7481.0 Difference being dropping the 4x MG to change the 2x LLas to 2x LPLas.

I run the "Alpha-Crit" (my own variation) on my prime, and I stopped by here looking for builds for my DWF-A. I have a lot harder of a time building the A in fun/interesting way (that feel separate from just turning it into a B or P), but I suppose that's just due to the default hardpoints on the A.

I'm sure this build is awesome, and I'd really consider using it, as I like LPLas a lot. However, I can't count how many times having the 4x MG up close has saved my butt - or really deterred those pesky lights from thinking they can just spin circles around me. I'm quite divided!

Either way, 5 stars, for functionality of LPLas!

[member=3087]IanSane[/member] Is the TC4 worth the Weight, or would you say a TC2+additional Weaponry+Ammo+Heatsinks would perform better?

Just curious. Too bad i didn`t have enough time to test it on the PTS.. :(

I think after the laser nerfs TC4 is good on this build. CERMLAS range module gets it back on pre-nerf range, and we all know that its OP :p

There's an alt arrangement of the same build in GMan's MWO Tier List:

It mounts everything on the arms, which means you don't get the actuator. But it also means you can aim the Gauss up/down. Also it uses the Prime RT which gives a +10% turn rate which is very meaningful in a Dire Wolf.

It has less armor but two more heat sinks.

I usually run mine with a little less armor still, and 5 tons of Gauss ammo. However you run it though, this build will tear up at mid ranges. A great skirmisher . . .

This is almost the same as what I've been running lately. Mine has bonus crazy though - Gauss moved to the LT, trimmed ammo and armor, and the B torso lets me run 2x cGauss 2x cLPL 3x cMPL 3x cERML TC4, 96.4 DMG alpha PLUS I can use the A arm for lower arm actuators. Nothing quite like turning a DWF's CT dark orange with your first alpha and watching him torso twist wildly as he tries to back away.

    5/5,
Awesome build for general use. Good range, high alpha, decent heat efficiency.

Its probably the best build in the game. 3-4 kills are a must.

    5/5,
This is THE Direwolf build IMO.

I rarely ever get under ~700-800 damage and at least 1-2 kills with it, doesnt matter if my team is a bunch of retarded monkeys jumping their asses on the keyboard, you can carry like 3 pug mechs at once with this build.

I was running 6xCERMLAS before the clan weapon nerfs, now its too hot - 4xCERMLAS allows you to fire two alphas before overheating and mount the gauss rifles in arms. Brutal up close, respectable pinpoint damage at 650~ effective range, very heat efficient.

This is what i'm running post-nerf:

    5/5,
Back when they first nerfed the linked PPC/Gauss combo, I switched my DWF-Prime to this build. Have never regretted it, as it remains one of my strongest DWF builds no matter what changes they make. I tend to focus most of my attention on the LPLs and Gauss, but once I'm close enough I will fire those together, stutter a moment, then hit the ERMLs when someone torso twists back towards me. This build eats components for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I run mine similar to Bart, but with different locations, plus more 1/2 tons of ammo for crit padding a bit:

I've actually recently swapped the 4xERMLs out for 4xSPLasers. Y'all know how much I love the SPLs, and when I don't need the range, that heat efficient DPS is beastly!

I've considered doing the same, but there have been too many times when I've lost my RT, and the range on the ERMLs kept me in the fight. It's the eternal choice, heat vs. range ;)

Actuator + less negative quirks + half more ton of gauss ammo and better ammo placement, worth it :)
