This builds up way too much heat in my opinion and is unable to dissipate it fast enough for a medium mech with no jump jets. Takes 30 secounds to get down to lowest level of heat, especially the version with 5 SSRM6 gets too much ghost heat if you want to deal much damage in a short time. Mix 2 SSRM6 with 3 SSRM4 to maximize your impact with acceptable regeneration time.

Nice idea. I'd replace one of the SSRM-6 with a 4-sized one and use an Active Probe, though.

This guy tears up anything that gets close. Use that ERLL to poke at people early on and to harass slow heavies/assaults until you can close the gap. With a near guaranteed 3 lights and 3 mediums this guy has a lot of targets to go after. Late game this guy is an absolute closer.

I'm going to have to try this build. I tried the 5x cSSRM6 build and it was great at finishing and taking out light mechs. It's main drawback are that you can't do anything until you get into SRM range, it's pretty hot when the heat penalties kick in, and the 6 second cooldown sometimes became and issue if your alpha didn't kill the enemy mech.

I think you're build fixes some of the problems with the 5xcSSRM6 build. Some of my other Stormcrow builds I really like have either ERLL or LPL in the torsos and head. So hopefully I'll also enjoy it on this build.

The only thing I might change would be to switch the SSRM4 in the RA with an SSRM6 from the LT. That would even out the firepower a little.

Another strong SSRM build. I would definitely agree with switching the SSRM6 in the LT with the SSRM4 in the RA just so you half roughly half of your launchers on each side (12 on right, 14 on left). If, somehow, you still have heat problems, you could use an ERML or MPL in the head too, and throw in some more sinks...but that brings you back into the problem of having no long range weapons. Still...depending on your style, it may be better or worse.

Lurve those SSRMs, so thumbs up from me ;)

I ended up running this build today. Actually it was slightly different, 4xSSRM6 since I didn't have any SSRM4's. The alpha is slightly less, DPS is about the same, and it runs cooler. I got 2 kills with about 500 damage. My game client crashed to desktop about half way through the match. When I rejoined I had lost my right torso, but was still able to do pretty well with the ERLL and 2xSSRM6.

Anyway, I was wondering what other peoples thoughts were on the SSRM6 versus SSRM4's in this build? The cool down is one second less in the SSRM4's so I think you will get a little better results when chain firing with the two SSRM4's. Although with the SSRM6 you have better cooling efficiency which will let you fire a little longer in a brawl. Although waiting 6 seconds with the SSRM6's is painful during a brawl. It's probably better to play this with hit and run tactics, which I think the SSRM4's work better since you have slightly more Alpha. Thoughts?

One final question. What's the best weapons grouping? Chain fire or group?

Only reason Why I'm not giving it 5 stars is due to the long cool down of the SSRM's. That's a weapon problem, the build is great for a light and medium hunter.

SSRMs are great for taking out pesky fast lights since they track but many lights carry ECM preventing you from getting a lock. Any way to get around that?

I'm gonna have to give this a try... I'm running an ELITE'd -D variant right now with 5x CSSRMs and a MLas but this looks interesting.
