Medium mech LRM boat. Think stormcrow with LRM5. Most likely a kill since you can chain LRM5 to a dying target, definitely assist, cERLL and speed ensures survival. Only problem being the fickle chance of winning a game, and that my stormcrow is all leveled up. Doing it for mech bay.
Very nice graphics, tactics mode plays well, the upgrade system is interesting. Characters as always are interesting and the good old companion system is thriving. Healing is via potions.... my poor mage can't heal himself. Quid pro quo potions (and armour/weapons) can be customised and improved to your choice. Loot everything you find thats of use in crafting as you use a lot. Control system is a bit odd but I've had no particular problems - its similar to quite a few other games so not impeded me much. Not sure why so many people apparently complaining but then I'm quite flexible. Any specific questions ask. Oh well off out for the evening so no tournie points for me.
Loved origins, hated DA2. The combat overall was better but it wasn't as engaging as origins, mostly because of the boring environment. Is that any different now? Finally have some time to play MWO again, and this tournament seems like a good way to start building up my skills again~!
Win a Champion Victor if you can be the best missile boat! Never have I seen a challenge favor missiles as much as this one: EVENT HIGHLIGHTS: This weekends event uses one of the most straightforward formulas for victory so far, but amounts to one of the toughest challenges yet! Can you handle it? If you can, there is a Victor Champion 'Mech waiting as your reward. In order to score 1 point you must: Get 1 or more Kill, Get 1 or more Assist, Survive, and Win the match via either the Primary or Secondary objectives The first point you get will automatically reward you with 3 days of Premium Time to help sweeten the push toward the 20 points required to achieve the Victor Champion. The rest is up to you. 1 point - 3 days of Premium Time (activated upon reward) 20 points - Victor VTR-9S(C) Champion 'Mech (Mech Bay included) View your overall progress here (https://mwomercs.com/profile/stats?type=challenges).
While yes, lots of missile boats, this also encourages that "I don't want to die" behavior that includes: Not wanting to push until someone else pushes forward Taking any amount of damage and stopping Getting 1 kill and shooting something else and then running and hiding until the end of the match I've heard people say they've seen many matches lost because they were winning but then everyone on their team wimped out because they were afraid of dying. And yes, I am running an Awesome 8T with 2520 LRMs.
This has already been posted in the news with less salt, and there is a topic in the feedback section to discuss it
playing with Aylek atm. It's not really Lurmageddon, so really enjoyable. And the best - PT for the whole WE Plus a Champion Mech (30% C-Bills Bonus) that comes with a superior XL350 Engine and Double Ultras (which costs you alone 800 Grandes) NICE!
Was fun running into you guys just now, my SweC crew is not quite polished yet in group tactics and some are brand new at the game but they have their moments.
Hmmm, an XL350 you say? I wasn't really that interested in the mech, but I wouldn't mind that engine. I think you're mistaken about the C-bill bonus though. As for what to drop in, I'm thinking of a high DPS long-range medium, like a SHD-2H with 2xAC5+2xAC2. These things are always good for a kill or two and can stay out of trouble. If the heavy queue isn't too crazy this weekend, Thunderbolts are also a great choice, as they soak damage like nobody's business, and with the quirks they can dish it out as good as anyone else too.
Something tells me to stay away from leveling mist lynx's this weekend... Guess I'll finally get to play IS mechs post-quirks so that will work out
But that's exactly the point! It's meant 1/ no to be a challenge, but a "everybody will win stuff at the end of the weekend" event and 2/ not to change the way people play the game. Don't get me wrong, I'm a completionnist too and I'll get my 20 points to get my green check on the list. But I wish I could succeed on this this by simply playing, not by hunting teamplay-breaking achievements. That's the major problem with most of this challenges: it changes the way people play the game, and for the worst. I had another great idea to complete my first proposition: not only the formula should not be revealed before the end of the challenge, but all prices should be mutualized and evenly shared between all players that played ten or more games during the event. Yes, I'm a communist. (and I think the event for the Stormcrow sale was the best PGI organized and they should do more like this)
Fair enough epikt. I guess there is always that irrational fear of "If I don't know what the criteria is, how can I be sure I get what I want". More of the Stormcrow type event would be excellent. It almost gives a feeling of unity.
matches are horrible for me, got 3x 4 kills matches where I lost, doing 7 qualifying games a day, can't stand more. (after some matchmaker is behaving better, let's hope it keeps like that).
For me it's just that my plays have gotten horrible, I often rush in (I mean, push at the front in a medium) like a noob and die, or don't rush in and don't get a kill
