    Max armor version:

So with the nerfs to PPCs and Jumpjets, and the new module system, I find this build the more optimal jumpsniper than the classic 2xPPC, 2xAC5. Partly because of the new speed synergy with AC10 but also because I think you now need 4 jumpjets and more speed to make it work.

The projectile speeds are already similar since the PPC nerf, but to optimize the synergy between AC10 and PPCs I combine the PPC cooldown module with the AC10 range module. This gives your weapons very close ranges (AC=498, PPC=540) and cooldowns (not sure exactly, but notably better) which is very nice for pacing and consistently landing clean hits.

For mech modules I personally take radar derp and adv. zoom, since they both synergize well with jumpsniping.

    Weapon groups:
    1. Alpha
    2. AC10
    3. PPCs chainfired for heatdancing.

I'm very happy about the nerfs and clan competition because now I can play a build like this and feel that it's just another viable build rather than some metacheese. Looking forward to running this with the agility nerfs removed.

Standard engine version for proper shield side:

Might become viable when the agility nerfs are flushed, right now I feel the 295 doesn't give quite enough twist speed to properly use shield side, so I gain more survivability from taking the faster XL engine.

    Your welcome.

About your build, I like what you did, but I think you need one small tweak. Your leg armor is more important than your left arm armor, so why not boost your leg armor and reduce your left arm armor? That way, your 10 points less likely to be legged, which is never good on any mech.

Understand the argument, but I actually disagree. My left arm is where I deliberately soak fire, it needs as much armour as possible. Especially since it has to protect both side torsos in the XL build. I always lose my left arm but so far I have never been legged in this build. I would even transfer more armor from other parts to the left arm if I could.

I agree that max leg armor would be nice, but I would rather trade 1/2 ton ammo than compromise my shield arm, bonus max armor in head too.

    4/5,
too much ammo. start from 2.5 tons and go from there. having more DHS increases the number of continued alphas

I've never even chew thru my 4 tons of AC10 with a similar build, so just put on an extra AMS to help out my team.

I arrived to the same conclusion as you as well, 4 JJs are an absolute must if you wanna play it old-school, and even than, it is STILL worse than it used to be with only one, good 'ol times.

Modules are AC10 range, PPC cooldown to sync 'em as much as possible.

Can still put up similar kinda numbers with an XL330, double AC5 and 3JJs, but this version just feels a tad better.

Meh this sucks, I went back to double AC5s.

Not even the 4JJ will make you a capable popsniper anymore, it just refills too slow, and the brawling capability of the AC5s are just superior to the AC10. Put em on chain fire, and shake that cockpit baby!
