Hmm, I've been called out a few times, but since the time I spent on MWO diminished (that includes videos and such) of course the 'fame' did as well I mostly get greeted by you other MechSpeccers ^^ One was very weird though. Early when I had only a few videos, a random PUGger (can't remember his name, had quite some numbers in it) recognised me because he subscribed to my videos, and I had only 7 subscribers at the time. The coincidence seems astronomically small!
Ran into @fx8230 in a solo match today, as well as @Remarius in another. Good times. FX's team rolled mine, but then later my team rolled Remarius's team. It goes both ways. Oh, and I also met another Mechspeccer, @Patryn in game today as well. Shout-out to you mate, was good dropping with you.
I also met @Remarius (and I finally didn't suck in a match with him, 4 kills) in the same team and we rolled the others, he was playing the hero Locus...I must play more at night
Have no idea what my team was trying to do. I was passing intel on where your side mostly were waiting but mine just couldn't seem to win any fight or skirmish. Didn't help the blatant wall hacker in the TBR on your side who always knew exactly where everyone was. We were frapsing and started baiting to film him tracking people and shooting them right as they stepped from cover in totally diferent locations. Made the mistake of calling him out two thirds of the way through and he went passive. Will submit our footage though so hopefully they'll ghost him themselves then nail his sorry ass.
Same here. I'm registered since day 1 and I only have like 2-3 posts. Not counting the halloween entrances. Here I get all the information I need, filtered, with less biased opinions. (Did I mention that I can't access the mwo-forums form the office anyway? *ducks*) No, really. It's the friendly atmosphere that got me hooked.
I dip in every couple of weeks as I like to keep an eye out for command chair updates. Some of the emo rage threads are quite amusing as they demonstrate a level of incompetence thats unbelievable or a complete lack of knowledge of the game that bewilders me as these are supposed "experts". The complaint threads about being volleyed through the back by a DWF can only be giggled at.... In fairness it also gives me a chance to direct people genuinely after help to mechspecs as the quality of knowledge is so much better here. Probably because we at least ask why or try to rationalise things? We don't necessarily agree but at least that way when you read say a mech setup you get a context and idea on when and how to use the build rather than "This build is l33t, it can kill anything"......
I would check on the official forum on patch day, partly to read patch notes and do bug report, partly to keep an eye on things, usually the official posts and polls. Other than that, it is not much fun there. Too much whine, not enough constructive post. Don't forget the SHS fight, it is like pillow fight, but instead of pillows we throw our stack of unused SHS at each other!
The first time I ran into @Michael l and @Bolththrower in-game, @Vergere and I OBVIOUSLY had to target him. So, I ran gung-damn-ho into the enemy fray and got myself murdered... But I wounded the beast.
The first time I met Mason in game I killed him on HPG in his own JM6 penta AC2 setup .... not that I stalked him the entire game.. nooo, never....
I used to get recognized quite often, but, these days I'm playing so seldom that I don't even know myself.
First time I ran into Michael I was doing Marik Monday madness last year in trial Jenners (all 12 of us) and I may have called his Cicada or whatever it was to be swarmed. Later that year of '13 during the LRM bufflivion that PGI had to hotfix the next day my friends and I decided it was only playable on ecm light. Might have run into Michael on his Catapault under the bridge by B4 base river city night in my submerged Commando chain streaking him with friends Raven... That was my first 2 times recognizing someone from mechspecs and both times it was him in unfortunate circumstances.
Lol Fherot, that reminds me of when I dropped into a game against a lance of fellow unit members (this was back when it was 8 on 8). My team decided to protect me from my unit members, so I survived and we easily rolled them.
I'm that guy I really enjoy mechspecs and reading what you guys post but I don't usually post myself as it was hard on my old phone and rarely read at my comp any more. First mechspecer I saw in game was Michael and recognized his Mason Grimm tag in solo on mordor on the opposite team and I said Michael thanks for making g mechspecs good to see you. Some guy said bullshit the creator of mechspecs isn't in here. Michael types I won't tell if you don't and to make it better for you Michael your team beat us really badly like 12 to 4 or something. It was like a year and a half ago. I also regularly see others and say hi unless they are on the other team in solo as pgi removed all chat but I've seen for sure epikt twice Don zappo subject seven and blagg. Blagg was kinda sad. He was on the opposite team in river city and his whole team is in the water throwing themselves against the fortress and they whipe leaving him alone. I rushed forward and solo brawl it out with his misery to get the kill on him to deny these slobbering pugs his noble corpse Almost forgot I ran into Solhama in an small pulse fire starter A after the quirks and was surprised by how aggressive he was in it. Challenging my Jagger dual gauss with others behind me top of cauldron on caustic but he managed to do a lot of damage before running off and dying to some one else. Normally I side torso lights in that thing. Props to him. After watching his locust video I should have been more worried Good fights guys hope to see you around again.
