Just had this bad boy, and holy shit...my hands were shaking, my heartbeat was so high! Terra Therma, the match started out weird, as my keyboard froze up for a sec, so I looked AFK. By the time I could move again, we had set up around the E8 grid area, trying to pull the enemy out of the middle. Well, they came in force, and it was neck and neck the whole game; my Raven 3L was chipping away at them, and dropped a good arty that smoked a lot of armor and components, but got no kills. Our teams were trading kills one-for-one, but we were taking a lot more hits, and having people die stupidly by charging in for some reason. Still, as a patient sniper, I managed to take down their RVN-3L, and later I managed to get the SHD-2K as well when I snuck up behind him and back shot his cherry red RT. Yay for XL engines! I also legged a Firestarter before moving to the SHD, figuring he could wait. I look up at the scoreboard, and they are leading 9-10...then it ticks up to 11. Ah crap, my last teammate (the CLPT-K2 I believe) just dropped, leaving me alone against three enemies: A TBR-S (with LRMs and 4 ERSLs), a JM6-FB with Dual Gauss, and the FS9-H who I had legged earlier. I start moving through the hills, and teammates feed me info: the Jager is in bad shape, and the FS9 has a cherry CT in addition to being legged. So, I move up and around the enemy forces, turning my ECM into Counter mode so I can hide, and manage to come up behind them...right as the TBR turns my way. Shit! I fire off a panic shot, and hide behind a mountain...then realize it's a shitty spot, so I 180 and head the other way, knowing I'll take a hit. As I come out from cover, I see all three mechs and jam my ECM back on, just out of range of the TBR's BAP for a moment. I pinpoint the Firestarter and hit both lasers, catching him in the CT and taking him down. A misstep runs me into some crates, and I can't untangle from them until the Timber Wolf is on me, and I take some LRM damage and a nasty volley from his ERSLs. I circle around him and chip off some armor, but man, he's in damn good condition, and his turn radius is too dangerous. I disengage, barely dodging a volley of LRMs thanks to one of the hills. As I run down the hill, I'm just desperately trying to get behind cover; I see his TAG land on me and wait...and nothing happens. Oh shit, he just ran out of LRMs and has nothing but ERSLs left! Realizing that, I start creating gaps between us, but I have to be careful: the JM is getting behind him, trying to longshot me with his Gauss cannons. Thankfully, his aim isn't good, and I have several near misses. While I do this, the TBR is trying to get a shot in on me, but I'm chipping away at his armor; after a minute, I've gotten the armor on his LT shredded and crit, and his RT is at red armor, but I can't get a good shot off with the JM screwing with me, so I disengage and go a long circle. Teammate starts bitching, btw, "You know they can just hide and win, right?" "SHUSH! I'm busy." I cut a large circle, getting back to where I got stuck on boxes before (E7?), and turn my ECM to Counter mode again...poke my head out, and wouldn't you know it, I have the Jager's back. I sit for a moment with him targeted, only to see that his CT is cherry red front and back, so I let him have it, and now we are 11-11, me versus the TBR. While I'm looking for him, I take stock of my situation. If he gets in close, he has me outgunned, those ERSLs will tear me up. His RT and CT still have armor, and his legs are WAY too healthy to take down. My only hope is in halving his armament by taking his LT, then softening up his RT until it blows. Meanwhile, my torso armor is in a rough spot, my right leg is crit yellow, but my left leg is yellow armor. My left shield arm is yellow armor too, so some twisting could save me from damage. Ok, here we go. With my ECM still in Counter mode, I turn a corner...and run right into him. SHIT! He's just as surprised as I am though, and his shot goes wide, mostly hitting my left arm, which has nothing on it. I fire off a panic shot that crosses his RT and CT, and get in behind him before gunning it away. Getting to longer range, I have a moment to take close aim, and focus in directly on his LT. It takes two alphas, but it finally shears off, leaving him with only two lasers left. I fire off another alpha as I move, and take both his RT and CT into crit, with the RT in worse shape. He keeps coming, but I take a close shot with my lasers and burn into his RT, and turn it quite a bit more red in the process. Then... ...oh crap. My adrenaline was pumping so hard, I didn't notice the heat warnings, and I have just shut down. As I power up, he takes off my right leg, and it's a race to the finish: he's trying to take me down with his last two lasers as I do the same to him, only he makes a mistake: instead of attacking my other leg, he start shooting my torso, which has more armor on it still. I chain fire my lasers into his RT and overheat again (FUCK!), but as I power up he's only just gotten my CT armor off. PANIC SHOT! I chain fire one last time into his RT and close my eyes as I overheat...and open them to see his mech sagging backwards. "Enemy destroyed." To make it even sweeter, that was my 20th point, so it unlocked the Victor Easily one of the most rewarding matches my 3L has had since I bought it.
Not a last man standing (curiously, I don't get much of those), but another insanely close game. Assault on River City, it's 8-8, our last mechs are for most of them close to destruction. Hopefully the enemy is very campy. But around 40 seconds before the buzzer they push, chasing one of us (the last not being heavily cored, and tried to grab a last minute kill). 6 seconds to end end, patatra! one of us dies! everything is lost! You wish! Last millisecond kill to secure the tie!
Sorry in advance for this monologue! Well this was unexpected. I’d spent the evening dropping against 6-8 mans from Lords, Jade Falcons and all the other tournie teams you REALLY don’t want to meet when you’re trying to double mechs in a 3-4 man. It took me maybe 9 battles to double the 3 Mist Lynx’s and then everyone headed off so I changed into the Pirates Bane Locust. Now don’t get me wrong I’m one of the few that really like this mech but I have a real affection for Locusts as I’m ….. weird….. I’d originally started running 4 SL and 2 MG but the quirks are quite anemic relative to the other Locusts which have great SL quirks and after a few matches I stripped everything out and started from scratch with a very simple setup which is similar to one of Enileph’s: Modules are ML Range/Cooldown, Radar for BAP/ECM equipped mechs, Shock Absorption for your legs as I throw the mech around a lot, AMS Overload. It’s got everything except jump jets you want in a non-spotter light. Lightning fast, decent focused firepower, arms are shields, ECM to cloak your movements and a good ability to repeatedly fire and then duck into cover at 170KPH. Its great against slower mechs but weak against Spiders and Jenners. You are the literal master of fly by attacks but are the most delicate mech in game which makes it an exciting but nerve racking ride. If there ever was a fly by wire mech this is it…... Yes I know that’s the fanboi version but allow me my moment. Anyway, on to the match. The map was Mining Collective where I have an awful history… to the extent that losing and Mining Collective are indelibly linked in my mind. I hereby rechristen it Locust Map for a few reasons that will become obvious. Even the beginning of the match was odd as I noticed our Kitfox ECM carrier wasn’t moving as I headed up the left side of the map to act as scout and try to report force compositions etc. In the meantime my side moved up the standard centre to right flanks. Anyway I’m hugging cover and moving fairly cautiously but quickly as usually the other side head straight down the centre/left. I get half way up the map and notice the familiar silhouette of a Hunchback heading straight towards me. Not a mech I want to tangle with so early in the match so I duck further to the left… just in time to see something small moving fast towards our starter area out of the corner of my eye…. Shit the afk Kitfox!!!!!! Anyway, I end up 180’ing and moving parallel but behind as he’s got a significant lead on me. Whatever it is it’s slower than me as I’m moving 170KPH but all I can hope to do is take advantage of the bait and hope he’s not expecting me to hit him from behind. If I’m lucky we exchange kills or I drive them off. As it happens its fairly perfect positioning but I make an amateur mistake. I come out from the tunnel by the start area right behind him as he’s moving in close on the Kitfox to focus everything on him. Till now I thought it was an Adder but apparently it was an MLX looking at the results page! Ooops! As it is I have the time to carefully drop the full burn on the 4 medium lasers right into its back and they spin to fight me, then after one exchange of fire that barely damages me disengages as an Ice Ferret on our side is coming in hard and fast. The Firefox was still standing there blissfully unaware of the excitement going on so I hesitated and didn’t give chase thinking the Hunchback would be coming in behind me any second. As it was they didn’t so I head up the left again looking for him and suddenly the Kitfox stirs to follow! The left is clear so the KFX moves to give ECM cover to our team in the centre/right while I go looking for backs to shoot as I’m moving so much faster than them and we’re both ECM carriers. From this point it develops into a fairly standard battle for a Locust where I was non-stop moving, softening up targets and causing chaos. I actually totally missed our team imploding because the next thing I remember was finding myself in the centre with our Stalker I think it was (something big that I only saw for a second!) and noticing it was five versus three. I’d just cut out and killed a Warhawk in a furious fight and had run towards a blue blip on the map with a timberwolf chasing me not realising how few of us were left! I’ll admit my moment of triumph over the Warhawk pilot gave way to a wave of despair as the TBR volleyed our mech in the centre and totally shrugged my volley into its CT before I reached cover. Our assault mech never even got to fire. Five versus two and our surviving Timberwolf seemed to be keeping well away from the fight. I could pretend there was a moment I dug deep and remembered the 300 Spartans at Thermopylae but if I’m being honest I thought I was going to die futilely and achieve nothing. Fighting tournie teams all evening sort of does that to your confidence! Not again! It’s hard to describe how grim the situation was – I had five mechs arrayed against me… a Timber Wolf who had just volleyed the assault, a laser vomit Stormcrow that had been ripping through our team, a LRM Kintaro, and an autocannon Jagermech. To add insult to injury they were travelling in a death ball under cover of the Mist Lynx’s ECM…. In my favour I’d already done some damage to a couple of them, nothing significant but I had stripped off armour. So the dance begins – I have to keep out of 180m so my ECM doesn’t alert them…. But avoid the tagged LRM’s. I have to stay as close to my optimal as I can to give me time to dive into cover. I have to hit from the rear….. of five mechs. I have to avoid the splash damage of the laser vomit stormcrow that doesn’t even have to land solidly on me. I have no idea what’s on the TBR but if he one shots assaults….. While hoping my heroic TBR ally can stir his lazy arse to help. Queue one of the most tense suicidal fights of my career to date and the key was almost flukey. I’d cottoned onto the path they were moving as the TBR had led me to them as it rejoined the blob knowing we had to attack them or lose. The JM6 was covering them at the rear and I’d already noticed its AC’s were arm mounted as it was my formerly beloved DD. With its arm movement and hitting power I prioritised it and hit it first dropping the quad medium lasers into its left rear torso as it was carefully moving to keep as much of its back towards the wall it was next to. Good but not good enough. Its left side exploded taking its arm and I fired a second volley into it as it desperately turned to bring its right arm firepower and front armour into play. Too late as I disappear into the night. It’s not very often you see the immortal line in team chat spoken to a Timberwolf: Go help the Locust. But that’s what someone dropped into chat about two minutes later after I’d been non stop skirmishing dropping my quad lasers repeatedly into the pursing Kintaro and Stormcrow pair. I just couldn’t pull them far enough apart to take one down as they played really sensibly. If I tried to take a second volley I’d start getting LRM’s raining on me. I’d also dropped a couple of volleys into the TBR and DD, enough that they were acting quite cautious and staying under the Mist Lynx’s cover. Anyway I break for cover as I’ve been running my heat red line the entire time and just needed to take a mental stock of what was happening. Finally my saviour rides in like a white knight on a clan charger…. ….. and dies almost instantly… Wait? What? How? So we’re at five versus one and they know they have it. Deathball reforms and they get clever. The Mist Lynx hops onto the top of the building they’re by knowing I can’t get up there as I have no JJ. He’s running counter I guess and keeping me spotted as much as he can as I start getting a lot more LRM damage not even realising what they’re doing at first. At that point the flukey feature comes into play. The edge of the building has that minute ledge on the side of the drop into the centre and its just wide enough for a locust to move along at 170 KPH… I literally found it by accident running from the Stormcrow and Kintaro! It forces anyone chasing you to either drop off the side and take a wider path via the ramp or use jump jets. I’ve totally lost track of the Jagger and promptly put him to the back of my mind as all I can do is walk the knife edge of this combat. The first mistake I make I’m dead. I get my first break when the Timberwolf ambushes me as he’s hidden by the side. He’s playing well and is going for my legs with his lasers turning the left one bright red and the right deep orange as we fight. I manage to drop two volleys straight into his only reasonably damaged area – his centre torso – and take him down. But I’m in a world of hurt and the Stormcrow comes around the corner – the saving grace is he’s got no JJ so has to come up the ramp I mentioned so I get a seconds warning and time to lose heat. I drop a volley into him as he comes into view and he fires back ripping my left leg straight off…… thank god for slow clan reloads as I beat him to the second with my IS ML and cool down module again burning away his torso. That’s when I try to move and realise my leg is gone….. A legged locust versus three mechs….. Hey it’s a hero mech you know so easy! The Kintaro comes up the ramp next for the easy prey using his secondary armament. No idea why but he went for my CT rather than my deep orange leg and my desperate shift to the left away from him meant he blew my damaged left arm off while scouring armour to a lesser extent off my LT and CT. I twist back and drop the quad ML into his front before continuing my twist to show my right side which he promptly blows off… only to receive my quad medium lasers to his face and become a smoking wreck. So there I am … Armless, wrecked but functional torsos… and still legged. Just the Mist Lynx to come and I know he’s close as I occasionally see the slightest movement above. Coincidentally it’s been that sort of battle so the enemies are congratulating me as they die which says something about the fight we’ve been having. I have no idea what to do as I can’t get up to the Mist Lynx and I’ve just noticed that its 11 kills versus 10 … that Jagger. I can’t get up to it, its staying out of sight, I have no idea where the JM6-DD is. I put my back against the wall and switch to counter. Then my prayers are answered by whatever powers look after the righteous House Davion (May the rest of you heathens burn in hell!). The Mist Lynx literally drops off the roof with his back to me at maybe 100m and I put everything I have into his weapon arm as all his armament is there. Critical weakness 101….. Component damage flashes up and he takes off desperately trying to avoid my firepower. Sadly for him as I’m legless I’m just calmly taking my time on the next volley as movement against a fleeing light is pointless. Full volley goes into his rear and he implodes. Second kill to the legless locust. That’s when someone on their team kindly tells me that the JM6 had hidden and shut down several minutes earlier. I guess my damage was more than I expected and at 5 vs 1 he must have thought it was in the bag so decide not to sacrifice himself in a (dis)armed mech as mobile armour for his team. I tried to tease a location from the other team by mentioning the tie but they stayed quiet. The timer was running out and I had one hope – I crawled the direction the Mist Lynx had run … at 40km…. Two minutes passed and nothing as I moved up the left side glancing into hiding places as I stumbled on. Then suddenly at the death I find an angular shape in a corner and I put two volleys into its centre. Clock stops with 17 seconds on it. Third kill for the legless locust and sixth for the battle. PGI agree that this was a passable performance and award me 519,890 C-Bills and 10,576 xp. I go to bed and lie there unable to sleep for an hour. … then make you all read this monologue in the morning.
wow Remarius! that was a wall, but well worth the read. Spectacular game my friend, wish I could have seen it in person!
Not me (I was too busy dying fast on my brand new wubwub giant walking CT ), all praise goes to NightStalker for disposing of the six last enemy mechs. It's not an amazing performance since they were all deeply cored already but he handled this really well. And that was quite hilarious to watch.
I told this story in another thread somewhere but can’t find it. I have however updated it with after game screen shot and corrections. Once on Canyon Crossing when it was still somewhat new to me. I was rolling my non elited Atlas-D-DC in brawler mode no speed boost. After playing a few games on Canyon Crossing I decided that most of my team is wrong and that the enemy always take the B4, C5, D4 route (I honestly don’t know what capture point it is there since I hate conquest). Some random hunchback pilot agrees with me so obviously I’m right. I lumber down that way while our lights mix it up with theirs out on the other side of the map. Obviously these are spotters for lrm boats because nobody ever goes that side. We close on the corner before the straight away and slow down expecting heavy resistance hoping my team will realize their blunder and come back us up, or at least kill all the mechs I put holes in. Peak the corner nobody. Step out nobody on the ridge above or ground down low but my team now seems to be engaged with more than just a few scouts. Swearing at myself I start pushing the empty lane towards their base (this was before base defenses) hoping we get there in time to gank some of the lrm boats and snipers in the rear of their formation to take the pressure off my team before I lose this match for all of us. Hunchie follows me and once we get to their base we notice the fight taking off down the opposite lane (E3) and the middle one up (D2) and (D3). Turning the corner we catch their rear guard. It’s a Dragon fighting with one of our Jenners under the bridge at E3. We open up with my double LBX ten srm18 two large lasers plus AC 10 or 20 and medium lasers from Hunchie melt the offending Dragon. Emboldened by the victory my two team members push ahead of my slow assault and engage the rest of the enemy rear. With all my free time trying to get the rest of the way around the corner to see the enemies I notice the score. My heart sinks we are the last three mechs on our team. Before I could type “come back!” I see enemy mechs pouring down the hills and out of the two valleys in in front of us. The hunchback runs straight at a catarphact. I throw down an impressive but relatively impotent wall of lead missles and lasers but I couldn’t save him Poor bastard probably didn’t even see the other cataphract and the hunchback 4G that blew him to pieces. Our Jenner was already injured but saw the enemies in time and is getting the f out of Dodge. I continue advancing and firing to try to put myself between him and the heavies but a spider and Jenner on the hill at our backs burn him down right behind me. I feel really stupid and really bad. I not only cost my team this game but now it’s me in my Atlas against 6 other mechs. More importantly I’m pissed, at myself and the enemy team. I am going to die but sure as hell am going to take as many of these bastards down with me as I can. I quickly count the enemy mechs, three heavies, a medium, and two lights. I start backing myself in to the slot in the wall on the top of the elbow of the L shaped canyon in E3 . It has cover from both the enemy base route and the canyon’s the enemies are pouring out from. I focus fire right on the center torso of the closest cataphract that the Jenner and hunchback were shooting and drop him. The other catarphact and hunchback 4g keep firing at me until I’m backed into my little slot behind the elbow. I turn and now notice the spider and Jenner on the hill firing down on me. I shoo them with my Large lasers on my arms and turn to face the two heavies and medium still advancing on me. I pop back out and dump double barrel shotgun blast rocking the other cataphract back and forcing him to hide in a similar crevice in the wall. Hunchback alphas and I take some of it to my ballistics right torso but I give him both barrels right after and half my srms hit him too the other hit the wall he’s hiding behind in front of the Catarphact who is now stepping out with the Catapult right behind him. I wasn’t sure what the Catapult was carrying. He hasn’t fired yet? Shit! Splat Cat. I quickly fire at the Cataphract, and overheat, just as momentum carries me back behind the wall. I didn’t get a chance to lock other Kitty and see his load out but this can’t be good even if it’s just a streakapult. Power up and again proceed to shoo spider and Jenner who are still harassing me from the canyon wall towards their base. I’m about to step out again and die like a man when the hunchback appears under the E3 Bridge. I immediately light him up while his heavy friends can’t see me. Crap only stripped more armor and he gets away again. Apparently the spider feels reassured by his teammate proximity and starts sneaking up on me at ground level from his base. Big mistake! I quickly reverse turn and start hitting him with tons of molten lead and lasers and he ducks back away from me losing his arm and a lot of armor. Now it’s the Jenners turn and he drops down from the hill to support the spider and I light him up too and he runs towards the heavies as he was closer to them than the spiders cover at my back. I fire again at his back, step out to follow him and get nailed by the Cataphract. I return the favor with shotguns and missles and shotguns(they recycle faster so I shoot them first) and try duck back. Catapult decided to climb the hill at the other end of the E3 bridge so he isn’t looking at me. I take another wave of damage from the cataphract causing me to see way to much red armor over my ballistics slots but I core him with my next broadside. Catapult hunchie and Jenner are all look at me again so I back up in to the corner while the spider keeps pelting my back side. Again shoo spider. Hunchback sees my retreat as a sign of weakness and rushes me so it’s just me him. He doesn’t get away this time he’s burning my armor while I fire my 1(shotguns) 2(missiles) punch at him then double lasers to his core. “Yes!” Over heat again but he goes down. Oh crap lost RT armor and a shotgun. Then I freeze on the hill opposite me the Catapult is coming into view "nice kitty...nice kitty". I don't have an angle to hit him with my main weapons so I take some laser shots at it but don’t have much time to worry about it or the spider who is trying to hit my right torso because the Jenner walks around the corner point blank. We both turn and fire I lose the LBX’s a LL and center torso core is orange but he loses an arm and a lot more of his armor. Overheat again. Sigh. gg I get ready to eat it but I notice in blue chat someone saying LOL they are running away?!? “No way, they have me dead to rights” but sure enough I see the catapult lumbering toward the enemy base with his injured comrades. WTF? No time to worry about it if they head for my base or notice my damage I'm dead. Power up turn and unload waves of srm’s and my remaining Large Laser into the back of the fleeing Jenner and he goes down. I’m still trying to figure out what they are trying to do and I see the spider and the Cat set up behind the base derrick I launch the last of my srm’s at the kitty expecting a lot more in return. Nothing. Spider is trying to hit me with lasers but Cat still does not fire, instead it seems to be...trying to hide behind the spider… Fine with me I engage the spider aim for his already damaged leg take that off with the Large laser and then start trading blows on our center torso. I win and he explodes no armor on my center, dark orange internals, and one LL left and the cat starts...running again? As you can imagine the chat lights up with even more banter as I finally lock him up and look immediately for weak spots and start tearing, still just trying to kill him before he gets away and caps my base. His rear armor doesn’t take long and he drops to cheers from our team and jabs at the other pilot. His team wasn’t too happy with him. I still wish I knew why he didn’t engage but I can only think of two things. No ammo, or someone let their kid play on their account but either way it was pretty hilarious. I still have had people from that game tell me they remembered it years later it was pretty epic.
Thanks I do think I remembered to say it them even if I almost broke my keyboard by typing it in so hard. Darn Adrenaline. also this was amazing fixed it for ya
After a losing streak I decided to do one last drop on my DRG-5N Champion/Trial baby. I get Frozen City and it quickly becomes a peeking brawl in the city section near Jenner Alley. I take up position on central hill and snipe down UAV's while drilling anyone who peeks around city as well as a stalker over on the right by the dropship. I'm dodging LRM's and side stepping gauss, starting to feel like Morgan Kell channeling Phantom Mech. Looks like we've cleared the city and I go after stragglers beyond the dropship with 2 teamates. Before I even cross over the ship I see one team mate go down and it's me and one other vs Stalker, Cataphract and a Flame. Flame comes around corner and pummels me with AC10 as I fire on Stalker who kills my last ally. With him down I twist right to keep Flame between us as I kill him in exchange for an orange CT. Now the Stalker and I twist and fire at one another from 200-350 meters. Crap! Taking damage from right side - the Cataphract! I see the heavy is missing an arm and smoking so I turn my rear to Stalker which has some armor left and alpha the Cataphract then turn to avoid his return salvo. I see a red name type 'gg'. Stalker cores my rear now and I'm about to shutdown, no coolant left. I snap off a Gauss round in a quick twist and send the 70-tonner to the snow in flames. Now it's one-on-one. Teams going mad. I'm red CT. Stalker orange. My large lasers and Gauss pummel his nose as he backs off around a corner. At first I run left between 2 buildings but back up at the last second and go right again where I was before. The Stalker is backing up and staring at where I should of been. One last shot with lasers. I log right off...
Had another good match in my 3L...the damage wasn't high, but the ending was great enough to cheer for. Crimson Strait, Skirmish. The match starts out very slow, but I get a feeling of trouble early on. They have a couple really good players in their mechs who are getting a lot of unanswered damage. In particular is a LCT-1E, and MLX-C, and a NVA-Prime. The Locust is darting from the hill/tunnel side back to the saddle, and back, getting pot shots off on people left and right. The MLX and NVA are both poptarting, and getting off a lot of shots, and most of my team is camped out under the garage area. I'm up top trying to snipe as best I can, and having good luck...I keep chasing a Hellbringer, Gargoyle, and King Crab behind a building (why they didn't return fire is beyond me), but the Nova and Locust are trying to pin me down. I watch as the Nova and Locust start taking people down with their strike attacks, and things are not looking good, but we're still pretty close on kills. A lot of the guys that I'm shooting are getting downed, although I'm not getting the kills, but they are dying. Suddenly...things turn. The Locust gets 2 kills in a row, and suddenly, I notice the score is 8-10, but then it flashes to 9-11...my last teammate died, but caused a TK as he went out. Well shit. They know where I am, so I go sneaky, and see them coming under the garage area for me, and run to the hill where the Locust had been camping. He finds me moments later, and we trade fire, but he accidentally steps into one of the garage holes, and I quickly reposition. As I do, I get some snap shots off on the MLX, but can't quite strip anything. The Nova is...absent. I wrap back to the far end of the garage, dropping an arty strike (hoping to get lucky) so the saddle is on my right, and peek out...only to notice the Locust standing still, looking for me, stopped because of the arties. One concentrated shot to his CT finishes him off. Two to go. Nova I know has the ERSL/MG build, so I bug out to get some range, although he hadn't seen me right then. I run into the water and catch the MLX looking around, firing off a couple shots that hit, but don't do much more than peel off some armor. I wrap back around to the tunnel side, and run up the small hill, just in time to see the MLX in the distance...so I charge and start tearing into him. Just after I do so, I hear laser fire...shit, there's the Nova! The MLX keeps jumping around, and keeps managing to keep my weapons from hitting, but he's also using a short range MPL build, so I start kiting him over the saddle and into the city beyond. He makes some nasty hits on me with his jump jets on, but weakens his legs too much, and I get both his legs off in rapid succession. Just the Nova now...and I have 1:04 remaining. Desperation move, I have to hope that he gets overeager and chases me, since I can't survive in close...so I head out to the river, and start strafing the city...and he pops out right in my sights at about 600m. One alpha, and it's all over. 3v1, 3 kills...one Raven remains. Recorded it on Shadowplay, so I may upload the very end (kind of a boring match to watch until that point).
Oh god yes. In rewatching the video I realized I got some parts wrong in my memory lol...gonna upload this one to youtube and share it
