FS9-A's are in their nature incredibly aggressive mechs as you have to be in close and the Firestarter is so agile it does the close quarter job brilliantly.
I agree especially with the spl quirks which I used before they were cool <mech hipster jk but I will normally engage with my team or flank solo not engage directly far in front of my teams advance. That takes balls so that's why I give him props he certainly helped his team win as he did a lot of damage in a very short time.
I actually just had a match where a guy recognized me as he was piloting one of my KTO builds and escorted my Summoner around. It was pretty fun. He just followed me around and worked very well as a lancemate. Good times.
I'm usually impressed when someone says hi to me. But then again, I'm not as prolific a poster as others are on here.
i get excited when I meet mechspecs guys in-game and they're usually excellent players and own face Then I get nervous and have the worst games of my life
My only Derp match, I had dropped in the solo queue during the faction challenge and had LT Satisfactory on my team, I recall. I was in my AWS-9M ready to wreck face... only to realize I left my ER PPCs lying in the 'Mechbay. I had a pair of ER Large Lasers for the whole match. Woo. Hoo. :: I still feel stupid for that. (And let that be a lesson to all ya'll. The only thing you should be swapping between 'Mechs are engines and modules. The first can't be launched without, and the second you can still play without.) And I see the Don all the time, because we often drop together.
What?!?!?! I heard my name mentioned! Story time is it? The first time I recognized someone from MechSpecs I didn't even know there was a MechSpecs. This was when I saw, what I like to call, the Glimmer Man (Michael) out of the corner of my Stalker cockpit window. He was in that fucking Super Chicken build he is so proud of and it was myself and an Atlas on my team versus his Raven as we had nuked the rest of his team. He stripped us clean. Literally. He was taunting us (actually typing) while he was stripping arms and weapon systems off the Atlas and my Stalker. This was kinda making me a little more mad and in retrospect I know that is exactly what he was looking for. Myself and the Atlas split up to go hunting this little fucking Raven pilot and that is when we made the critical mistake. We should have gone back to back against a wall and waited. I was on Team Speak at the time and was ranting to my unit mates that this fucking 3L coward pilot, who was being a real dick (sorry Michael, but it is true), and they asked who was piloting the Raven? I said Mason Grimm and they laughed at me. "You know who that is right?" and I was like "No" and they told me about MechSpecs and Mr. Grimm, the Bastard PGI Moderator. Right around that time the Atlas went poof somewhere on the other side of Tourmaline. That map is HUGE when you are alone, in a stalker that moves around 60kph, facing a fast moving light with ECM. He could be anywhere. He stopped moving, wherever he was, to taunt me a little bit more with something about "Atlas mechs taste like marshmellows with a little crunch to them". See? dick! I went went and backed my stalker against the wall and taunted him back taring him to come at me bro!! I knew he was close cause my radar was all fucked up from the ECM. Then came the shaking cockpit and the hell fire associated with an artillery or air strike; whatever it was he lit me up pretty good. That didn't make me happy. I called him coward a few times and maybe one or two other things. The radar was working again so he must be out of range. Just a strafing pass? He laughed at me and actually had the nerve to say to me "before I kill you, I invite you to check out MechSpecs.com and check out longer ranged Stalker builds". As I was typing my response one of my legs suddenly blew off. WTF? A second later I read "TEE HEE" and my other leg blew off ending the game. Son of a bitch at snuck in behind me and blown off my legs from the ledge to the rear right of my position. I've been causing him headaches on MechSpecs ever since although @Jacob Ling still takes the cake, by far.
I REMEMBER this match!!! If I remember correctly, you were pretty pissed and that Altas pilot had a mouth on him. He wasn't happy when he marched across Tournamline and then I legged him and left him alone for a couple of minutes. I really wish I had a video of that match because that one was well fought, on both sides. You are correct in that I couldn't come at you two until I separated you both and you were also correct that I was taunting you on purpose in an attempt to get you both angry; I figured one of you would puff out his chest and come looking for me. Apparently I was right and that was the mistake that cost you guys the match but then you knew that. As for telling you about MechSpecs? I just felt bad that all you had left were SSRMs or SRMs or whatever. I remember it being a short range splat style build and I also knew that, unless I got too close, you were no threat to me. The Atlas was the bigger threat and that is why I neutralized him first.
Unless it's me and then you silently stare into the void. Until, of course, you die and then back seat pilot.
This is the silly shenanigans I like to pull when someone recognizes me. I have an odd taste I guess.
Actually I ran in to the EXACT same person who said the EXACT same thing!!!!! Conspirologist! Bro, it can't be ALL bad?!?!?!?
