I first tested with 2 UAC/10s, but MLas were then too hot to be shot more than twice and I don't like half my weaponry being useless.
Downgrading the AC allows for a better cooling and a more constant laser fire. For, in my opinion, an overall better fire power.

Its comfort zone is on sustained mid-range engagements, but even on a brawl it's doing fine, it's pretty versatile and is a serious threat to the enemy in most situation (ie, as long as it's not long range).


Jump capable variant:


Using a -S right torso. It forces you to remove for 2 tons of DHS and/or ammo.
Another solution would be to use a -S chassis with it's jets on CT. Forces you to remove one laser.

Symmetrical variant:


To have similar weapons on arms and torso is not the easiest to manage. I personally run those mechs with arms locked, but it compromises on mobility.
Then you might want to test this variant with ACs on torsos and lasers on the arms. Since only the -S left torso has ballistic hardpoints you must mount 2 jets on this variant.
(and correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the -C CT has a negative quirk, better use the -P then, since we're not using the energy hardpoint)

 

I'm pretty sad this doesn't work with 5cERMLas + TC1 anymore, but still a solid build! I'm testing this one here in comparison these days, but I can't decide so far which one I like better.:

edit: like I said on the OP, I tested 2 UAC/10s, I found it too hot. With 2 UAC/5s I can rely on the lasers.

 

Yeah but without the TC1, at least if you want decent heat

That's why I use ER Small Lasers (works pretty much like IS MLas).

 

This built is my favorit. (2xCU-AC/5, 4CER-Med Laser, no JJ)
The first Mad Cat that can hold a line for a couple of minutes.
Very cool runnig when using the lasers carefully.
With this Cat you must no longer fear a Dire or a Warhawk.
400-800 dmg and 3 kills are reachable for me in my unleveled Cat. When the Mech is leveld up there could be more kills, i am sure.

 

I had a lot of fun with this build this weekend in some variation across Prime S and C..... finally decided to level them after ages of dust collected. Was pulling 600+ whenever I could catch a match I didn't die in a firestorm of missiles. I had some problems pulling kills, but this is the first real play time I've gotten in about a year, so Kudos to this Dakka Kat
