So open beta is coming on Monday right? A lot of these threads are being shut down over at MWOMERCS.COM which is kinda sad but oh well! We can talk about this shit here since Michael seems to run a pretty relaxed outfit! Post how you really feel without fear of Mason Grimm, Helmer, Lima, Metro, MiSs, Chris K or even Paul and Bryan swooping down upon the thread and closing it! Do you think it was the right call? Do you think it was the wrong call? You don't really give a shit? Were they pushed in to it by IGP/Investors? Are they trying to gouge the community for further investment capital? Are they getting burnt out and just want it out? Would love to hear what other community members think cause I am pretty torn. I think another 1-2 patches are required before this thing is ready?!? Don't get me wrong, I'm a fanboi myself (like almost everyone on this site) but I think they are jumping the gun a bit!
Dose not bother me in the least....Since they aren't a huge company and MWO has the hardcore BT fanbase behind it ...this isn't a game that will fall apart because newbies filled the forums with tears.
I like it. I think its time. Especially if they go to an open server and a closed test server. This will allow them to mass test updates as they want for as long as they want with out messing up the live server. I say go for it. Not sure the forums could get anymore tears on them anyways, half the posts there are full of whine and cheese.
I think it´s ok, but I´m not sure. The game as it is, is an enjoyable experience (I have two or three friends who played when visiting me and are eagerly waiting for the game to open), but a bit short lived if you are not a Battletech fanatic (like me). Even me, after having bought all the Mechs I was interested in (which are not that many), I am beginning to long for variety, not only in Mechs but mainly in maps and play modes. Mind you, it took many hours of gameplay to get to this point So, IMO, it all boils down to how fast they can churn content AFTER they go open. The new guys will be having fun for weeks (maybe even a month) just to explore everything that´s in right now (especially without premium accounts or founders Mechs to speed things up) - that´s plenty of time to put in two more maps and maybe three Mechs. What really worries me is the deeper gameplay modes (factions and all), we have no clue to what level of development they have this stuff right now. If they got nil, then it will take months to have it, maybe only by summer next year - then going open maybe a mistake.
It is what it is. I would have preferred to see the MM overhaul in and the kinks worked out first. Nothing to do about it now, though. They have made up their minds.
I believe they will be in for a bad ride unless they can introduce new modes, maps and mechs at a good pace. Right now there is little to build towards after getting a few mechs and the pilot lab maxed out. It is very similar to how world of tanks released, but without the content too grind through. I think we will get a better idea of the game in about two months after the folks who arent in beta already get bored or stay...
I'd enjoy it more if I didn't have this damn hurricane over me right now...... I wanna play before my power goes out :unsure:
Greetings , I feel that in a ideal world things would have taken a much slower process. Nowdays , as most of us know ,its all to do with deadlines and profit making. I think we will have to see how it goes and remain positive upkeep our general attitute towards this franchise. From my side i will remain true and you will see me here for a long time Its been years since Im looking for a game to take me back to the old days. I guess i have to adapt to the " factory " mentality of publishers. See you soon after the servers are up. JT
I think it's time. The game is good, the new engine has been deployed and mostly stabilized, the primary equipment has been added to the mechlab, and they're bugfixing as fast as their blessed little Canadian fingers can type. Yes, it's time. A little positive attitude from the community (take a cue from the NGNG boys) will go a long way.
