Something I am experimenting with currently.

 

Not really a fan of streaks on anything moving less than 80kmh. Given the new Gauss change and missile lock time required for SSRMs it seems like you would take more damage than you are giving. Im assuming this guy is meant to hang back and help focus fire kill and use the SSRMs to deal with lights, but you dont have BAP either for the ECMs.

Im not gonna lie man, im not a fan of this layout. His weapon load-out idea seems better fit on a medium or even one of the faster heavies. Without BAP or even the speed to keep up, those SSRMs are just wasting space. You're also lacking AMS on a decently slow mech.

Even his harpoints are mostly lower and that's gonna restrict his ability to compete with Jagers, Cataphract 3-Ds, Catapults, and stalkers when it comes to exchanging fire over ridge lines. Or anything with JJ for that matter. The only high hardpoints are his SSRMs.

Sry man, but i gotta vote a 2/5 because i dont feel like this guy is reaching maximum potential, and even then, hes trying to fill a role that many other mechs do much better.

 

Hmpf... how about replacing the SSRMs back by a single SRM4.Pod, and... putting one LLas into the Sidetorso... and adding one more ton Gauss.Ammo?

I'd definitely use the 2 remakes over the OP. My fave is the 30 gauss ammo, 51% efficiency version.

 

I'm not a fan of the mech in general either and I don't just mean the loadout. I pasted this loadout before sitting in the mech thinking I placed the SSRMs on there because, due to the CT being as big as a football field, lights tend to RIP THIS MECH UP. AMS was the least of my concerns as I'm still able to move at a decent speed.

I just can't find a loadout worth its salt in this piece of crap mech.

 

Ya idk bout this mech man. Everything i put on it just seems to feel like i was just throwin together what i could. He doesnt fit any role specifically very well and has weird convergence and also low hardpoints to deal with...im just praying the K variant will help make the Orion stick out more on the battlefield.

 

Essentially how I run my Protector after phase 2 quircks but with less armour and heatsinks plus BAP.

 

Since heat isn't really an issue, might as well take two SRM2s for the firing speed then use 1/2 tons of ammo for crit padding...
