While not exactly off topic, I feel that my following question isn't so important as to warrant a space in General Discussion. I have, over a couple of years, posted quite a few builds on MechSpecs. They have all been essentially theory-crafting (I hope that's the correct use of the term), as I still haven't organised myself enough to get a good gaming PC and start messing about on MWO proper. To cut a long story short, it would be interesting to know if anybody has had any success piloting any of my builds, or if anyone has come up against any of my builds in opposition that were particularly difficult to defeat. Hopefully, I should be up and running by the summer. The plan is to enlist my 'genius' younger brother in building me a top notch gaming rig. Any advice on spec/components is welcome. In the meantime, looking forward to the Cauldron-Born landing in the new Clan Wave. Happy hunting!
Found a few of your builds...can't say I've seen them much (The TBT was sort of outdone by other builds thanks to quirks, and the Stalker 5M and 3F just aren't seen as much as the 4N and Misery on most days anyway). As far as PC components, I would build your PC for other more recent games that you want to play, rather than building it for MWO (the specs are pretty easy to meet for this game compared to, say, Battlefield Hardline). That is assuming you want a serious gaming rig that can last you several years before needing any sort of replacement, of course. That way you can have your MWO fix, but also be more than kitted out to handle new releases through 2020 or so.
Agreed. A 560 Ti will run MWO easily. As will a first gen i7 2600 with 8gb of ram. Dude, you can put all of that together these days for like 500-600$ most likely. HOWEVER, if you want to future proof (somewhat) you are looking at $2000+
Thanks for the gaming rig ideas guys. With regards to my builds, any builds from the 'Dispossessed' Watchman are also mine. There was a bit of an issue transferring over from the old site, so I had to start afresh.
