So, no details just yet on what the challenge will be, but the giveaway for this weekend will definitely be an Adder: Also, he mentioned in another tweet that it will be getting its quirks soon, so it might be worth holding on to it (unless you have it already) until we see what happens. Not sure what variant it will be...maybe if we get them drunk enough at PGI, they'll give us the new 4th variant (yeah right). Someone get some absinthe up there!
Hope the event points for the adder are not the same kill-assist-win bullsh.. as the last two events...
The last weekend has taught me (as did my college econ courses) that my time has value to it. After the perpetual irritation that was last weekend's challenge, if it is remotely the same I will definitely be out.
Lets hope the quirks are useful and not restricted to full sets of omnipods. Also, hope they put quirks on something sueful and not fucking shits like flamers.
Well... *Well...* So, one kill and one assist... but you don't need to win. But you need fifty. I guess if I get it, I get it. If not I have c-bills to show for my weekend? After all, I need more engines... and I need weapon modules... And I will need c-bills for upgrading SHS to DHS for nine more mechs...
I recommend doing as I do: don't worry about it, don't try for it, just play as normal. Don't even bother checking your numbers, or trying to focus on getting it; whether I do or don't get it, I don't really care, as it's free stuff that I don't really need. This way, you don't have to worry or fret about it. But if/when you do actually get the 'Mech/Mechbay (because the latter is all I really care about) you're happy to have gotten enough even without trying.
Too close to the past competition, 3 days premium for me, and then let's see how much I get/want to play. The raven had more value, given the removable XL295 inside. The adder is kind of cheap and buying a mechbay is not a problem, not really worth the grind for me. It would be nice if the blue color was 20 or 30 points tho.
I figure that I will either use the Adder some day down the road (quirks might make it good), or I will sell if it quirks end up crappy, and using the cbills towards one of the other mechs I want to start, and enjoy the free bay. I managed over 100 games for the last challenge, and this one will FLY since you only have to get 1k1a, not a win. Seeing as how a large number of my mechs are designed as killers, I don't foresee many problems with that, even during a stomp.
This. Preferably use something with + C-Bills. For me I've barely been able to play even this week for work reasons so I have doubts about this weekend but 1k 1a is laughable. I just have plenty of Adders already....
I think I will never use an adder now that a fast, ecm able, clan light (with great hardpoints too) is going to be released and while waiting the new kitfox with the new hardpoints is better for me as well. So I'm just playing normally and see what happens (but I work on Sunday and tomorrow I will be out most of the day, not lickely to reach 50)
I may have a go if only to get the freemium time. Like others have said the lack of needing to win is nice. Also it is nice to see so many tiers to get stuff, but that does seem to have pushed the mech waaay down the list of rewards.. oh well
Heh...it does feel weird to me though. I remember getting the free Centurion over a year ago...all we had to do was win 5 games. How things have changed
That was part of their effort to turn things around after dumping IGP. If you remember they did a lot of stuff at that point.
I think the Centurion giveaway was before that though...that was February 2014, IGP didn't sell back the rights and fold until October.
