Well, the whole idea of time in battletech is that technology gets used for longer and longer periods of time, right? And also many people are bringing back old styles of music, so maybe... "AC20 DDC" AS A FUTURE ROCK BAND? GET IT? The joke.
My personal favorites for drops are Still Remains, The Showdown, and, A7X. But, I'm a metal kid, so, what do I know, eh?
Definitely Fear Factory... Maybe some White Zombie. Can never go wrong with Rolling Stones. One band they would definitely not be listening to.....CREED
Nothing if they want to stay alive and FFS I don't want to hear your music on comms either ... Particularly as it gives away why you're missing commands.
As would suit my new unit, pilots will be listening to cheerful drunk singing, accordeons and brass,... *** Looking "forward" to it *** @Aylek @Remarius
Hmmm? The temptation is to say Industrial Metal, but we're talking over 1000 years into the future, so I think it would perhaps depend on which mediums have survived the ravages of time. If you imagine any future wars including E.M.P. attacks, all digital data could easily have been lost. I think vinyl records might be the audio medium of choice. I can just imagine some technical boffin outfitting somebody's Mech with some kind of hi-tech, gyro-stabilised record player!
House Book: Steiner has the info on which band is the most popular in the Inner Sphere (as of 3025); but I don't remember the names (
I was at my parents' house this weekend and had the opportunity to take a look in the House Book. It says "Theras and Her Red Deltas", though the actual statement is "currently hottest band in the realm" (p. 129).
If I could teleport myself to a possible time- scenario, I would make sure all my pilots were listening to AC/DC
