"Muffin Top" This is it, the definitive Clan poptart sniper. (this space open for later video ) Yes those arms with SL are vestigial. It's part of the gimmick. If you want to just swing your tinyhuge dick, run it like this instead. This mech is designed for opening CW with. It is an attrition based mech, conceptually. You sit in the back and tart until your legs fall off. What else is there to say. And yes, it's hot as fuck. It will always be. Get a deep understanding of how much heat you can go beyond 100 when you go for kill shots on a poptart while already hot (shutdown on landing etc)... otherwise in general the heat is not as much of an issue as with say, an Adder.
I am ripping off 1000-1200 rounds in CW with this mech as the first drop out of the deck. Basically 4 out of 5 drops the opening plays out where you can just tart for 10 minutes in the back unabated. The A arms make all the difference, I know it sounds crazy. I'm fairly certain this is the Clan poptart sniper, or its variations.
Updated 04/07/15 - It is now the definitive poptart sniper, no question. Yes you can remove the vestigial arms and throw in another DHS, and remove some more arm armor and put it back in legs, whatever. Fuck you. Run it like I posted, gg.
LOL that made me laugh so loud in my carpool! Yeah, the new quirks basically traded 4% heat generation for a 15% velocity buff as well as a 5% cooldown for the B torso. Definitly a win for the dual ERPPC nova. But I still prefer mine
My first match with this mech was pretty good: Tank and I did what we could, but the steamroll happened anyways XD I dropped the TC1 for another DHS. I have poor heat management EDIT: Took me a few years to figure out how to upload images again. Sorry for the countless edits
Personally I've been running it a little bit more tweaked, something between this and Remarius build, but I don't wanna post the build hehe. Either way... that's just very subtle change anyways, the real point is the ppcs, in shoulder, on Nova, with current velocity quirks, makes this mech a poptart in the old school style. That's my shit, gg.
5/5, At first it doesn't seem like having two ERSL would matter much, and in the grand scheme of things that might be true. With the added 24 armor in each A arm, though, it feels like a waste not to put something in there. It just feels right. It's the sauce on your wet burrito. That little extra kick, and it can make all the difference. Very fun build.
The thinking is..... ok for example, lets say some light is scrambling through your peripheral. Just swing the lasers at him and go back to your regularly scheduled tartage. It's situational, but for solo queue play [not CW], I'd prefer it over the shaved-arm one w/o the lazerz, cuz it adds utility for stuff like that at the expensive of hedging further into its specialty.
I honestly wish I could get it to work as well as you as I have to play a few games to even get in the groove.
I've spent most of my 'weapon study' in my time with MWO, specifically on PPCs. I know very little about ballistics. I know very little about missiles. I don't even know a whole lot about lasers [enough]. But I do know PPCs... I gotta get into the groove too with anything I'm just sayin it comes to me a bit easier with this wep, or naturally, or somethin. I have off days, too, or sessions where I'm like "I dont feel like putting in effort to aim so precise right now, hitscan time laservomit activate".
