Well, according to Bryan's twitter account Hero Mechs will have the ability to be painted as of May 7th. Whether this includes Founders mechs or not we aren't yet sure but we sure as hell hope so! Bling bling all over the place!
Meh. I think having unique models, patterns, and/or colors is a good thing. You know, like buying a limited edition car. But no, everybody wants to take that limited edition car with its unique paint and decals ... and paint it to look like every other car of the same model. Too few people appreciate the value of uniqueness nowadays.
Unique pattern, custom colors is a good thing. Or, if you're like me, and enjoy repetitiveness and uniformity, then this is a really good thing.
Uniqueness in that a Hero 'Mech is visually different from any other version of the same chassis. They should always be different simply because they are a representation of a famous pilot's personal 'Mech. How they had it painted (or how the devs decided they had it painted) is how it should be painted forever. If you don't like the Hero's unique pattern and colors, you shouldn't buy it. At least they are keeping the patterns. Only the colors can be changed. Hopefully they do the same with Founders.
Yes, I personally WANT the founders keep their patterns but would love to be able to mix up the base color at least. I use my Founders mechs a lot in Corps official matches and would love to be able to sport the proper colors
I agree with you about the pattern itself, but I am pretty bored with the bland color of the Founder's 'Mechs. It is my hope to be able to match the color's to the planet I will be battling on after Community warfare starts up. I hope I haven't been spending the big bucks on paint schemes for nothing!
Can I laugh at this? I could not care less about where these mechs come from on the BT canon, I don't even know who the hell those famous pilots are, I bought my hero mechs because I like the chassis and though I could do something with their hardpoint configuration. I'd never pay thousands of MCs for a paintjob, still less for the worshipping of some fictional characters. Anyway, now they are my mechs, I'd like to be able to customize them a little. Still I agree about the pattern being unique: a hero mech should keep its pattern and no other mech should be able to wear it. But it won't hurt to be able to change the colors, at the moment I see more variety and personality on "standard" mechs than on heros.
You can laugh. I did. I didn't do it necessarily for the hardpoints (on some, yes, but not others). I did it because they get 30% extra C-Bills. And I got more to have a variety that gives me 30% extra C-Bills.
Nope. Their colors are unique to those 'mechs. Likewise Founder's Blue and Founder's Yellow are exclusive to those chassis. :sad:
Yup, just painted my mechs the other day and realized they didnt include this handy option. What a surprise. We're paying 30 bucks for mechs in some cases the least they could do are coin us the hero colors
If you change your color on your hero mech it should still show the original color on the secondary color square This will change if you change your color more than once before you save and exit camo spec if you make sure the original color is there before you save it will stay there until you change the color twice in the same camo spec change... hope that made sense... lol
I wish they'd included a new category in your paint shemes and colors which is named after the heros you own. Shouldn't be too complicated to exclude these colors to be used with other mechs.
