"Calling all Founders" challenge - Builds & ideas

Hey all,

I will partake in the challenge and am looking over some of the old school stuff with an eye to the quirks. Here's my ideas on what to run. Primarily I'm looking for mobility and decent cooling efficiency so I can survive solo.

Atlas​

First test (I will post a build thread on this - we haven't got it yet.)


Alt version

On both Atlas, I've chosen to ignore the missile points in favor of cooling and ability to do persistent damage.

I took my good old Jenner for a ride. I don't care about the formula and won't optimize the build to abuse it, so here is my usual JR7-D build:



edit: looking at it and realizing it has 11 DHS and is hard enough to overheat, I think I'll trade the 11th for 05t ammo and a jet (like this)

 

I noticed the defacto CPLT:C1 build is the good ol' 2xLRM15+3xMLas+Tag. If you're looking for something a little different, though, Falconium's Tripulsica Build, and Blagg's Thunder Cat build are both pretty fun, and you don't have to worry about losing those huge missile bays.

I don't think I'll stay long on that rank since I haven't played 10 games yet. I'll probably get more next days, but I haven't the time (nor the will) to compete for the top5 (the only interesting reward).
But I'll help reaching the 50.000 kills (this mech is a good killing machine, 1 or 2 per game at least).

 

Yeah, I think the top will be hard to hold onto. I'm pleased I just made it into the top 10 briefly. I'll see what the score is tomorrow and determine if it is worth chasing those 2 millions, swapping to my Atlas now.

 

27th place on the CAT at the moment. Think I did 13 matches (3 horribly terrible painful rolls, seriously I'm not even gonna try to understand what my PUGs were thinking they thought,... )

Correction my 13th match just now brought me to spot 19

 

Standard (ex)meta build for Jenner and the standard (quirked)Hunchback build should be fine enough.

This one is for Atlas. Don't worry about that half ton of AC20 ammo w/p CASE in the torso, you should have fired that amount before you get any compartment trashed

 

I started out with the LRM-pult, it was founders competion so what not use the mech the way lore tells us how to use it. Sadly enough though, even whilst the LRM build is solid, it does not favor the formula. So order to try and stay in the top 50 I had to switch builds. to get as much solo and most damage kills possible. Triple LPL it is thus from now on,...
