Yeah, I know, there was only 3 of them . . . but then, there were only 3 of us, and we'd been dropping against them for 3 or 4 matches beforehand as well, so it certainly felt like it was "us v. them"! We had actually beaten them the match before as well (in Dires again), on Terra Therma . . . but that one was REALLY close, as we only had 2 guys left in the end. This one felt a bit stronger for our side.

Though yes, in the end, it was more than just the 3 of us against the 3 of them! They actually had STS on their side, which looked scary for a bit at the start, as they're a good team as well; but then our PUGs turned out to be fairly decent too (in fact, I think they may have been a 9 man of MercStar and friends, judging from the lance composition).

I'm using small modification for more damage and because LPLas and med lasers are relatively close to each other in terms of beam duration and range.

    WG1: left arm
    WG2: right arm
    WG3: gausses
WG4: two LPLas for longer reach

When I meet an enemy, I just fire both my hands (still no ghost heat) and gausses to enemy CT.....in 2/4 cases insta kill. If enemy still lives, i can fire one of my arms once more and then just gausses to not overheat, or just retreat. I can easily melt any mech in that in 1on1. Very effective and very good for c-bill grind.

    best dmg so far

It's definitely a risk/reward thing there...more damage yes, but more heat too. Gotta be very careful when pulling an alpha in this build.

Definitely, but most encounters lasts few seconds before me or enemy retreat to cover, so I focus on max dmg/s. Thanks to gausses heat is manageable also in longer engagements. I tried any other variant with dual gauss and some lasers, and I like this most.
btw, I broke my record again:)

    Jumping trouble II.

Given the DHS drop, due to JJs, I'd drop 1 ML and get this :

"Gotta fill all slots" version, aka my version

I have a softspot for trying to use small lasers,...

It can still work with smalls, but I definitely prefer putting the gauss in the side torsos for the higher firing point...doesn't lose too much in terms of DHS, and can load a bit more ammo (I've found 45 ammo to be a good sweet spot for my matches).

Agreed on your build's superior weapon placement. I forgot to mention I also have a softspot for trying to get a working build out of a full set of omnipods ;)

I tend to time my LPL to coincide with the gauss impact and use the small(er) lasers as back-up. Is that the general use?

That more or less is what I do, although I use the ERML build. Generally, I try to save the smaller lasers to catch someone as they torso twist back toward me to return fire. The ERSLs would work just as well for the same purpose, but you have to get closer.

My take on this cheesy build. Uses the W chassis but it's pretty much the same thing. Asymmetry makes for some disgusting corner peeking.

TJ! That is a very nasty setup.
Must say you are very effective with it.

Because it was originally built on the DWF-B before the S or W existed...people have just posted their own variants using other DWF CTs, and there was no reason to split them off into other posts for the same build.

Yes, I know. But it would be nice if it would contain at least those omnipods that build would count for mastering B variant.

The original post does ;p Look on page 1 for those builds. Only DWF-B pod you really need is the CT, the others are interchangeable as needed.
