Where there is Death, there shall be Misery. What a load of joy this build is. You have 4 large lasers on your arms which allows you greater flexibility in your aim, and you have 40 rounds of gauss to play around with. Nearly max armor, and oh also did I mention it's quite heat efficient too? Whats not to like! My first drop with this build I came out with 711 dmg, and 5 kills. Straight pug drop. Go out there and have some fun!
Looks like a good build (at work right now, play comes later). I generally prefer this over the ERPPC / PPC builds, but apart from heat management, how are you dealing with poptart snipers (the current meta)? Is it as effective as delivering the full alpha damage at max ranges? --Netherkat.
First off, thanks for the like nether! It always feels good to receive any compliments/feedback! I too tend to lean more towards mid-range LL builds than PPCs, etc. As far as the poptarts, I usually just stick well near to cover, constantly utilizing torso movement if having to cross a danger zone, and usually let PuG players go out first so I can get a good feel and read of how the map is moving. Pretty generic information to most seasoned players, but sometimes easily forgotten! I find the damage is quite effective honestly. Having the Large Lasers mounted on the arms allows more flexibility for me to get those critical pinpoint shots in. The Gauss is like icing on the cake, literally. Yes this is a more mid-rang fighter due to the 4 LLs, but the Gauss and 40 tons of ammo let you harass with commendable damage from afar, at least long enough for you to push to where ever it is you need to go.
Change two of the LL to ERLL to avoid the heat penalty. Added AMS, ripped out a DHS and a bit of armor for it, but maybe ripping out a ton of Gauss ammo is better..
Actually neither really matter. Michael's right but all you have to do is not alpha and you have a non stop damage platform. Fire left side lasers, then gauss, then Right side lasers or whatever order but never together and there are no heat issues. Although, with experimentation i have noticed one thing: The shorter or longer the duration you fire your penalized weapons apart from each other is going to be how much of a heat penalty occurs. There isnt just one massive spike in heat percentage for firing weapons too close together. For instance: Alpha all lasers and you will see a huge spike in heat. Fire 2 LL right as the other 2 beams are ending or just a moment afterwards and there will only be a slight heat increase. Fire em completely separate with no beams running together (think ghostbusters, dont cross the streams) and you will receive no penalty.
Stalkers and XL are a big no-go in my eyes. Adding Endo allows to use a STD Engine, though. Changing the loadout while shaving of some armor allows this:
Gun to my head, this is how I'd Gauss+LLas a Misery today: Might want to strip the AMS for a 4th ton of Gauss ammo, if the Gauss lasts that long frequently enough. Gun away from my head, the Gauss would be an AC20. No firing mechanic to juggle, more durability, better DPS in CQC, not a torso mounted bomb, etc. AC20 does about as much damage as a Gauss out to like 400M anyways. 2.5/5 for the XL+4LLas+Gauss build, it's got firepower but serious drawbacks as well. This mech is potentially a force to be reckoned even down a torso, but not with an XL.
